About us

Know your audience. Not just as a demographic. Not just their zip codes. Not as a faceless archetype. Know the people. Understand them and the ecosystem they inhabit. Build decades of credibility. Stay fresh. Stay relevant. Surprise and delight your readers. This formula is what makes the Nob Hill Gazette different. We’re more than San Francisco’s most important luxury lifestyle magazine; we are the publication-of-record for the City’s social, cultural and philanthropic activity—for 40 years and counting.

“We have to stop trying to fix women and fix the structure,” Saujani says. “We spend way too much time telling women, ‘Well, if you just got a mentor, if you got a sponsor, if you got rid of your imposter syndrome’ — we just have to acknowledge that that’s not the problem. The problem is that we’ve never built workplaces that work for women. Basic things, like the work day is 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and the school day is 8 a.m.–3 p.m. — we set mothers up to fail.” And it’s not just mothers. To shift the dynamic away from moms being the default caregivers, all parents need flexibility in their schedules to some extent. . . . Check out this great profile on our founder & CEO, Reshma Saujani, and Bobbie's co-founder Sarah Hardy in the Nob Hill Gazette. Thank you to the author, Laura McClure Houghton for spotlighting the work we are doing together to fight for moms across the U.S.
