As the 30th celebration of Essence Music Festival approaches, festival organizers remain focused on continuing to strengthen their ties with the New Orleans community through ongoing engagement with local partners, stakeholders, and businesses. As part of those efforts, they’ve launched the ESSENCE Festival 2024 Sanction Program for Local Minority- and Women-Owned Small Businesses to operate without disruption and free of charge as an official Festival-sanctioned event. While small businesses do not need ESSENCE’s permission to operate during the festival, those selected as part of the Sanction Program will be granted use of its brand/logo and graphics for marketing and promotional purposes. During this year's BIO International Convention (#BIO2024) in San Diego, we joined economic development and health system partners to host the BIO from the Bayou networking event, which showcased our city's rapidly evolving biotech industry and the opportunities that await here. NOLABA developed several assets to display during the event, spotlighting the BioDistrict New Orleans, the newly announced Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine (XOCOM), and state-of-the-art wet lab space available at The Beach at UNO. We look forward to continuing these discussions and working together to grow our local bio sector by attracting top talent and companies to the City of New Orleans.
