For #NationalHomeownershipMonth, we've asked our colleagues and customers to share their homeownership journeys. M&T Mortgage Loan Officer John Savarese worked with Jennifer and Matthew to help them close on their first home in New York. “We are thrilled to be in our first home together and thankful to the M&T team for helping us get here. There were challenges through it all with an estate sale, out-of-state sellers, and deadlines, but John and the M&T loan team helped us make it happen! Thank you, M&T!”

We are excited to announce the winners of the M&T Bank Niagara University Multicultural Small Business Lab! 1st place - Dasha Colvin, Olori Family Daycare 2nd place - Zahra Evans, Origins of Beauty 3rd place - Jessica Billingslea, Bling Fairy In collaboration with Niagara University, we granted these entrepreneurs a total of $10,000 to support the growth of their businesses. These winners emerged from a pool of 15 participants in the five-week intensive program at Niagara University. Program finalists participated in a pitch competition where they presented their business purpose, strategy, community impact, and how the awarded capital would contribute to their growth. We are honored to play a role in empowering and investing in diverse small businesses within the Niagara, NY community. The 2024 Ride for Roswell weekend is in the books, with over $5.7 million raised (and counting!). Team M&T Bank returned for the 19th year with 105+ riders and 75+ volunteers to support one of the nation's largest cycling charity events dedicated to finding a cure for cancer, raising funds to support research and treatment at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. We were worried that we wouldn't find a home that fit our needs within our budget, but we came across an interesting listing, and after we visited the home, we couldn't stop thinking about that little blue house. It ended up being perfect for us! Kathleen was absolutely amazing! She answered all of our questions and worked with us every step of the way. It's hard to describe what owning a home means to us. Ultimately, homeownership represents growth and new beginnings. It’s nice to be settled in one area. Being able to call a space "ours" is certainly exciting, and so is the thought of making that space our very own.”

On June 19, 1865—86 years after the U.S. Constitution was signed—U.S. troops arrived in Galveston, TX, to inform the enslaved population they were free, founding Juneteenth, or Freedom Day. Together, we commemorate and recognize this day as one of reflection and freedom.
