A recent collaboration between the Lincoln Institute and Challenge Works investigated ways to support effective land use planning, infrastructure investments, land-based financing, and disaster resilience in rapidly growing intermediary cities in Africa. In a new Land Lines article, our Chief Program Officer Enrique R Silva, PhD and Challenge Works Director of Cities and Societies Kathy Quillinan Nothstine summarize some of the things we learned and our next steps: https://lnkd.in/eY85yPNp If you're interested in joining our efforts, get in touch: https://lnkd.in/enw-smVn

The White House just announced new actions to lower housing costs for the millions of Americans who struggle to pay rent—and a new report by our Center for Geospatial Solutions is directly informing one solution. CGS’ findings, which leverages its Who Owns America® analysis, provides a parcel-level examination of development potential on federal, state, and local land holdings. Our data experts identified over 276,000 acres of potential buildable, government-owned land in transit-accessible urban areas—which could support over 1.9 million additional homes.
