Once again, old DOES NOT mean low quality. If a post is older, but high quality, then it could be helping you on several levels (including helping with site quality overall, it could have earned links and mentions, and more). Think of a news publisher with amazing articles from 10 years ago. Those articles SHOULD NOT be removed... Google has covered this many times in the past. But if you have older content that's thin (cannot meet or exceed user expectations based on query), then take a look at what should be removed. Don't just nuke content before a certain date.
