Let's face it: getting laid off is tough. But remember, you’re not alone, and many successful professionals have been in your shoes. It’s a bump in the road, not the end of the journey. 🚀 Now: Should you address it on your resume and cover letter? If so, how? In this blog post, we share tips to help you navigate this challenge and present your best self to potential employers. 💼📄
How to Address a Layoff on Your Resume & Cover Letter

Wise words right here! ⬇ It's crucial to build your network *before* you really need it.
Don’t let your first LinkedIn post be about you getting laid off. 2024 is looking a lot like a repeat of 2023 so far, albeit a little more hush-hush. Thousands of great people are being let go from companies of all shapes & sizes, and even some of the best freelancers I know are struggling to find steady work. For all its myriad flaws, this platform is packed with millions of opportunities, it’s completely free, and yet so many people are still sleeping on it and lurking in the shadows. When a client comes to us asking for instant results from their marketing, I’ll usually throw my head back and cackle maniacally at the full moon, before pulling them close and whispering this softly into their ear: “If sales are your problem right now, then marketing was your problem 6 months ago.” You see, sensible people go to the dentist BEFORE their teeth start falling out. They get life insurance BEFORE their organs turn to dust. And they start posting on LinkedIn BEFORE they might need to ask for something from their network. The more people that already know, like & trust you, the better your chances of bouncing back from a shitty situation and right into something amazing. Regardless of your current employment situation, try & spend the next 90 days becoming a relentless giver with zero expectations. You’ll find that it becomes much easier to take if/when the time comes and you do need some help. P.S- if you’re in the UK, please make sure you VOTE tomorrow 🗳️ xoxo #Jobs #LinkedIn #Content
