On June 26, #POLB welcomed Allison Dane Camden, the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Multimodal Freight Infrastructure and Policy at the U.S. Department of Transportation. I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Multimodal Freight at the U.S. Department of Transportation! These past two and a half years have been quite a ride in freight and supply chain, from national port congestion leading up to the holidays, to baby formula shortages, national railroad negotiations, Panama Canal/Mississippi River drought, and the Red Sea attacks. So much of our work has been addressing acute challenges as they arise, while simultaneously doing the long-term work to build a more resilient national supply chain through our new Multimodal Freight Office, FLOW, and the White House Council on Supply Chain Resilience. I'm looking forward to continuing this good work. Thanks to the USDOT team for trusting me with this role, and I couldn't ask for a better team than the Multimodal Freight Office to continue the work with. Onward!

We're better positioned to handle supply chain disruptions than we were just three years ago. The partnerships and data-sharing systems we built helped us better coordinate and mobilize in response to the impacts on the Port of Baltimore.
