3 reasons we didn't advertise on Twitter/X even BEFORE Elon took over: 1. Twitter's ad tech offerings have always lacked the innovation provided by Meta, TikTok, Snap, or Reddit. They've never worked as closely with media buyers or advertisers to help build strong campaigns as the other platforms. 2. Brand safety issues yesterday, today, and tomorrow 3. X's AI offering is not new -- Meta has been offering a similar product (Advantage+ targeting) since early 2023. "This doesn't mean we'll never consider X for the right client or campaign in the future", says Paid Social Director Chris Cheever. "But we currently have no plans to advertise on the platform. At the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity last week, Disney Advertising announced a new partnership with retail data provider Affinity Solutions, which collects sales and purchase data from banks and credit companies. Using Disney’s clean room tech, brands and buyers can use Affinity’s purchase data to plan and measure campaigns across Disney inventory. It's just the latest example of CTV platforms partnering with retail media networks (or data providers!) to build full-funnel offerings to advertisers.
