About us

The Editorial Freelancers Association is the largest and oldest national professional organization of independent editorial service providers. We are editors, writers, indexers, proofreaders, researchers, sensitivity readers, self-publishing consultants, translators, and other communications specialists who offer a broad range of skills and specialties. Clients can use our Job List and Member Directory to quickly identify and connect with the right professional to help on most any project. If you're a freelancer, you owe it to yourself to be a part of this organization, which is dedicated to supporting its membership and your freelance career. We offer an online discussion forum, courses and webinars, local chapters around the U.S., discounts on many products and services tailored to your business needs, and more. We are volunteer-run, and volunteering as a member is a great way to meet other freelancers, gain exposure to clients, and give back to the community that supports you.
