DAV supports the Major Richard Star Act DAV and a coalition of other veteran organizations were on Capitol Hill to demand quick Congressional Action of H.R. 1282/ S. S. 344 Major Richard Star Act, a bipartisan bill that would fix the current injustice preventing combat-injured veterans with less than 20 years of military service from receiving their full veterans benefits. DAV Assistant National Legislative Director Marquis Barefield has the details. Make sure you're following along with DAV on all of our supported legislation here: https://lnkd.in/g4gN8-fH.

Giving back by volunteering to drive veterans These four volunteer drivers made the trek from Beckley, West Virginia, today to pick up three vehicles from DAV National HQ that will be used to transport veterans in their community to and from their VA medical appointments. Each of these volunteers take time out of their schedules to give back to the veterans by providing no-cost rides through the DAV Transportation Network. DAV is always looking for volunteers to help in their local communities, whether by driving veterans or through other volunteer activities. If you or somebody you know feel inspired to give a few hours of your time, visit volunteerforveterans.org to learn how you can get involved!
