Our 2nd Annual Corner Warner Race was the greatest spectacle in racing ... in our opinion! The competition was stiff as we raced around the inflatable track on tricycles - two laps determined the winner. It was a great way to show our competitive sides and have some fun. A new winner was awarded this year's trophy - Nick Gray. He had to race multiple rounds to win the coveted Corner Warner trophy. No Cornerstone event is complete without a snack! Ohana Lulu was onsite serving delicious ice cream flavors, pineapple whips and donuts. Z•O•O•B•I•L•A•T•I•O•N 2•0•2•4! The Cornerstone Companies, Inc. team and guests had an incredible time at this year's Zoobilation at the Indianapolis Zoo and had fun with the theme "C•H•I•M•P•S: The One with the Chimpanzees!” We are proud to support the Indianapolis Zoo again this year, as this event has become one of the Midwest’s largest black-tie FUNdraisers, aiding the Zoo’s animal conservation mission and supporting the care of its 1,400+ animals, 48,000 plants, as well as its global conservation and education initiatives. We indulged in exquisite culinary creations from Indy’s top restaurants, enjoyed beverages, and experienced live music and entertainment amidst the zoo’s fantastic exhibits! Thank you to everyone who visited Cornerstone's tent or mingled with us throughout the evening. We had numerous wonderful conversations, catching up with old friends and meeting countless new ones. IREM's Heroes for the House 5K at the NCAA Hall of Champions! Cornerstone Companies, Inc. was proud to be one of the Supporting Sponsors and help Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) raise over $20,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana! The event proceeds help families with children in area hospitals stay close by at the Ronald McDonald House at little or no cost. That way, parents can be with their children throughout treatment without worrying about a large hotel bill. Earlier this year, some of our team visited the Random Acts of Flowers office to creatively assemble bouquets for delivery to people in hospitals, nursing homes, and other places where individuals may lack family or friends. At the midpoint of Cornerstone Companies, Inc.'s year-long 2024 facilities training curriculum, our Facility Management team, overseeing the Indiana University Health portfolio, participated in a Lunch and Learn session yesterday. Held downtown with LEACH AND RUSSELL MECHANICAL CONTRACTORS INC, the session covered common issues faced by the facilities team, including faucets, urinals, toilets, sensor replacement and setup, cleaning strainers, and proper coil flushing techniques. Our team appreciated the hands-on training module, and their active participation enhanced the experience. Thank you to the Leach and Russell team! This training program aims to instill a proactive approach through monthly training sessions strategically designed to mitigate risks and minimize potential disruptions to job completion. We owe a great deal of thanks to Troy Keen, Anthony Piccione, and team for their leadership in planning this year-long training initiative. We extend our appreciation to the team members who attended, demonstrating their commitment to professional development and recognizing the value of the education. Our Cornerstone Companies, Inc. team loved celebrating the Midwest Eye Institute 'Topping Out' Event earlier this month at The Bridges Medical Campus in Carmel, IN. Guests signed the final beam and watched the ceremony commemorating the raising of the final beam atop of the MEI building. It was a festive occasion for Cornerstone Companies, Inc., Midwest Eye Institute team members, and all of our partners!! It was November and cold when the Cornerstone Medical Development team turned over the project to our Cornerstone Medical Construction team and construction started. So we celebrated this month with Dr. Rick Burgett, Dr. Robert Boeglin, Dr. Naval Sondhi, Dr. John Minturn, Song Hua-Lonberger, and so many of the MEI physicians, teams and partners. The Cornerstone team attended the 48th Annual Woody Hayes Celebrity Classic golf outing at the beautiful New Albany Country Club in Columbus, Ohio yesterday, in collaboration with Play Yellow. “Play Yellow for Children’s Hospitals,” an initiative led by Jack and Barbara Nicklaus, the PGA TOUR, and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, aims to unite the golf community to support children treated at local hospitals each year. Big thank you to the Development Board of Nationwide Children's Hospital and their dedicated members, who generously commit their time and passion to advancing the hospital's mission. The proceeds from this year’s Woody Hayes Celebrity Classic will support the exceptional work at The Abigail Wexner Research Institute. As one of the world’s leading pediatric research facilities, the Institute is transforming the lives of children globally by pioneering new therapeutics and advanced diagnostic tests, providing hope where it was once scarce. Special thanks to Rob Whitacre, Ben Cohen, MBA, and Ryan Roether, from Cornerstone along with Kent Weakley with Nationwide Children’s for representing our team in the foursome.
