About us
Charleston Wine + Food infuses homegrown flavor with top chefs, winemakers, authors, storytellers, artisans, experts, and food enthusiasts from around the globe for a five-day event that spans the first full weekend each March. The 501(c)(3) organization was founded in 2004 by a group of loyal community leaders with a vision of creating an event to promote + elevate Charleston’s culinary brand. The goal was to put Charleston on the map as a culinary destination and to bring national + international attention to the city. Over the last 17 years, the festival has welcomed nearly 370,000 attendees and generated over $138.5 million in economic impact. We are thankful to announce we are able to continue our commitment to the culinary community as the recipients of a grant from the Truist Foundation. The Truist Foundation Grant supports communities by investing in innovative nonprofits that align with their key areas of focus: building career pathways to economic mobility, strengthening small businesses and thriving communities. In the 2023 Charleston Wine + Food festival we debuted a new high school culinary apprenticeship to include 4 CCSD culinary high school programs (and counting) and serviced 33+ students. In the 2024 festival, the program grew. The paid apprenticeship provided hands-on experience for the students working with CHSWF’s world-class chefs and event planners. Our commitment to building career pathways to economic mobility with the assistance of the Truist Foundation Grant will continue to help this initiative. With the grant we can continue to expand our education program and support other programs that aim to build a sustainable food and beverage community.

Come support several of your favorite Festival Artisans, Farm Fresh Exhibitors, and Food Trucks that did not get to activate Saturday + Sunday in the Culinary Village as they pop-up for a fun marketplace to give them more face time with some of the people they love the most - you!
