It was a joy to support my colleague Laura Caton, CGFM, in hosting the first-ever JEDI-NG Impact Day today! By organizing this in-person event, U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Components were able to discover more about the capabilities of the Financial Reporting System. It was also a pleasure to finally meet so many people face to face that I've worked with for years! The House has passed a bill to update the Technology Modernization Fund (TMF), answering calls from Congress and the Biden administration to fund the program. This revitalized legislation, originally from the Modernizing Government Technology Reform Act of 2017, aims to ensure TMF sustainability and solvency with key amendments. Significantly, the bill allows for more dynamic appropriations and imposes additional constraints on reimbursements, providing agencies with flexibility in repaying the fund. The fiscal year 2024 spending package had rescinded $100 million from the TMF, drawing calls for Congress to "please fund the TMF."
