This past Friday, the Little Architects in Motion Foundation held a workshop at Arcturis! A group of elementary school students came to tour the office and create a project! Little Architects in Motion (LAIM) works to expose young children to the field of architecture and design through hands-on workshops. Their project was inspired by the Climatron at the St. Louis Botanical Garden.

We are happy to welcome our 2024 summer interns to Arcturis! Gabby, Kassia, and Sierra have already begun making waves in the Arcturis pool, and Journey is back for her second summer through the St. Louis Internship Program. This will be a summer of learning, growth, and fun as they make a splash in the studio with their new perspectives and hands-on design work. We are excited to see all they achieve this summer. #Architecture #Design #SummerInterns #Mentorship #ProfessionalDevelopment

BRAND-NEW Episode: Wonder how buildings gain their names and overall brand identity? So did we, so BUILD St. Louis invited Arcturis experts Judy Glik and James Butler on as guests to tell us how. It's a fascinating process. Yesterday we celebrated Julie Keil's retirement surrounded by family, clients, and colleagues. Julie reminded us of her favorite quotation: “choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” These words ring so true. In close to four decades at Arcturis, Julie truly loved what she did. Her legacy of developing relationships is second to none. We wish Julie continued success enjoying her family, a good buttery Chardonnay, and driving her husband, Steve, around as his personal Uber driver.

Today we gathered special clients and friends to celebrate at the annual Forest Park Forever Hat Luncheon. A gorgeous day - it was wonderful to be on hand to support the park with its 15.5 million visitors a year. Arcturis CEO, Traci O'Bryan, is Board Treasurer of Forest Park Forever and we appreciate all she does to support this incredible place for all.

Arcturis was excited to participate in the IIDA Gateway Unravel 2024 “The Art of Couture.” We were thrilled to receive the “Best Use of Materials” award, and had the gift of watching our model, Brand Experience designer, Braeden Koester, dance & strut on the runway. Our team was paired with Takashi Murakami’s iconic piece “Tan Tan Bo Puking” as our garment inspiration. The design team translated this into a personified form in an avant-garde streetwear ensemble, taking inspiration from Mr. Murakami’s other works, fashion collaborations, and art aesthetic “Superflat.” Our garment included a custom designed carpet, extra yarn, and carpet backing from Shaw Contract and chair mesh and plastic samples from Kimball International. Thank you so much to these amazing partners in design--we couldn’t have pulled it off without you! Arcturis proudly announces that James Butler has been promoted to Design Practice Lead and Jane Winburn as the Operations Practice Lead for the firm’s Brand Experience expertise. With these appointments, the team is updating its department nomenclature to represent the breadth of projects and partnerships the team is leading--shifting away from the former designation of “Graphic Design” to “Brand Experience.” Rejoining the team after a short stint away is Andy Palombo, a seasoned graphic designer with over 25 years of experience and almost a decade of prior tenure with Arcturis. The department was started nearly 20 years ago by the late Troy Guzman and has more than tripled in size since its inception. Arcturis, through the Brand Experience department, provides services ranging from signage and wayfinding design, branding and brand strategy, experiential design, motion graphics, and website design for community organizations to Fortune 50 companies.

Arcturis Principal Tyson Pyle was on hand to celebrate our partner and friend Brian Pratt for receiving the Community Impact Award at the #ParkCentralDevelopment gala last night. Park Central Development (PCD) is a 501 c3 community development corporation that attracts investment and works to strengthen equitable vibrant urban neighborhoods and commercial districts in the central corridor in the City of St. Louis. We are proud to work with Brian in his efforts to make #STL a better place. Congrats Brian! #socialimpact #empoweringchangethroughdesign
