The United States Air Force's ability to identify both map topography and pinpoint threats therein just got a significant boost thanks to a collaboration between AFRL and the The University of Texas at Arlington! This was made possible by a grant issued by the AFRL Minority Leaders Research Collaboration Program, or ML-RCP, merging both teams to develop a more cost-effective semiconductor thin film for use in infrared light detection. If you're a fan of: 🤖Artificial Intelligence 🔢Mathematics 👩🔬Exciting AFRL Intern Features Then you're in luck! 👏 Jay Bhan is today's featured ACT3, or Autonomy Capability Team, intern who's current work focuses on training up a stable diffusion model to more accurately create images based on user-inputs - is something to behold. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology student is accomplishing this by generating captions for images of a simulated racecar driving around a track. When asked what advice he'd share with aspiring students of #STEM: "Learn random things - dig down into YouTube rabbit holes about whatever technical area interests you. Don’t just read about a new tool, actually try running it on your own device. Ask questions. Be curious. Have fun with it." #AFResearchLab | #Internships | #AFRLInterns | #ACT3 | #ArtificialIntelligence
