It's no secret that movement is medicine, but even though exercise is the most prescribed part of medicare members' care plans, it is also the least-adhered to. As our aging population grows and medical costs rise rapidly, health plans must look for cost-effective solutions that engage members to drive clinical outcomes. Bold was purpose built for the medicare member, with everything from our product to our member experience team focused 100% on engaging members in clinical exercise to reduce falls, mitigate pain, and manage their chronic conditions. This commitment to our members is why we have been able to increase physical activity by 182% and keep our members out of the hospital, delivering significant cost savings to our partners within the first year. "When it comes to exercise, access is not enough for older adults... You have to think about context." CEO & Cofounder at Bold

I’m excited to be back at Medicarians this year to talk about why, when it comes to exercise, access is not enough for older adults. It’s not enough to simply say: Hey, here’s a gym membership. Or even, hey, here’s a bunch of classes you can take online. You have to think about context — you have to think about the social determinants of health. You have to consider: Can my members safely and affordably travel to and from a place of exercise? Is the tool I’m making available intuitive to use and responsive to their lived experience? Is there someone they can connect with when they really need it? Excited to learn from this community and to share our perspective. If you’ll be in town and want to connect about how Bold is breaking down barriers to movement in Medicare, please get in touch.
