If you use Yahoo Mail, you may use the service's online portal to send, receive, organize, and manage email through another client you prefer, such as Outlook. This allows you to manage your email accounts from a single application. Here, you'll find the SMTP settings to enter in your preferred email program.

SMTP Server Settings for Yahoo Mail
The SMTP server settings apply to outgoing mail, so they're the same whether you use POP or IMAP for incoming email. In most cases, enter the SMTP settings in the Settings section of your email client when you add the Yahoo account to it.
Here's the information to enter into the email program to send Yahoo Mail:
Yahoo Mail SMTP server address |
smtp.mail.yahoo.com |
Yahoo Mail SMTP username |
Your full Yahoo email address (including @yahoo.com) |
Yahoo Mail SMTP password |
Your Yahoo Mail password |
Yahoo Mail SMTP port |
465 or 587 |
Yahoo Mail SMTP TLS/SSL required |
yes |
These settings work with most desktop, mobile, and web email programs and services (for example, Outlook and Gmail). After you set up Yahoo Mail in your preferred email client, your mail and Yahoo folders appear in both locations.
Yahoo Mail Sending Limits
To help enforce their anti-spam policies, Yahoo limits the number of emails and recipients. However, Yahoo Mail does not disclose these numbers.
If you reach the email service's predetermined limit, you will receive a notification. After waiting a specified number of times (which should be explained within the sending limit notification message), you can begin sending emails again.
Creating a mailing list for groups that you email frequently could help you avoid these issues.
What's SMTP?
SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, a standard commonly used to send email.
