How to Connect Your Samsung Smart TV to Your PC Using Remote Access

Samsung's Remote Access feature lets you wirelessly connect your Windows PCs or laptops to select Samsung smart TVs, even if the PC is in another room. By connecting a keyboard and mouse to the TV (either wired or via Bluetooth), you can access files, use a desktop browser, play games, and more. Here's what to do:

  1. Power on the TV and ensure it's connected to your Wi-Fi network.

  2. Press the Home button on the remote control to launch the Smart Hub.

  3. A series of icons for inputs, content, and more appear. At the bottom, you'll see a variety of settings in a separate bar. Using the remote control, navigate to the bottom bar, scroll, and select Source.

  4. Above the bottom bar, you'll see a series of icons showing the TV inputs. Select Remote Access.

  5. Choose Remote PC.

  6. You'll see a large window labeled Connect to Remote PC. You're asked to enter your PC's credentials. To create a new PC profile, select the User icon located to the right of the PC/Profile box to launch the User Profiles window.

  7. Select Add to create a new profile.

  8. Find your IP address in Windows. You're looking for the local IPv4 address, which you can find through Settings > Network & internet Properties.

  9. Enable remote access on your computer. The quickest way to do this in Windows 11 is to search from the taskbar: Type remote desktop settings, press Enter, then toggle Remote Desktop on.

It already should be, but while you're on this screen, make sure the Network Level Authentication check box is filled.

  10. Return to your TV and make sure you're in the User Profiles window. Use the connected keyboard to enter your PC's IP address in the corresponding box.

  11. Enter the username you use to log in to your PC. Then, using the remote control, select Save.

  12. You'll see your new profile listed in the User Profiles window. Select Close to exit.

  13. Back in the Connect to Remote PC window, you'll see your newly created profile listed next to PC/Profile. Select the profile name, and this auto-populates the username box.

  14. Next, select the Password box and enter the password you use to log in to your PC.

You can change your Windows password if you need to.

  15. Select Connect below the form to initiate the connection.

You may see a pop-up notification warning that the identity of the remote PC cannot be verified. Select Yes if you wish to continue.

  16. After a moment, you'll see your PC's desktop on your TV. Using the keyboard and mouse connected to the TV, you can use the PC as usual.

When you're ready to close the remote session, select Home on the remote control, and choose Disconnect.

You can also connect a Samsung mobile device to a TV using mirroring, casting, and Samsung Smart View apps. Check the device software or user manual to see if your device supports these features.
