Webroot’s SecureAnywhere is challenging to remove because the software doesn't have a built-in uninstall function, but you won't be able to install any new anti-virus software until the Webroot program is fully removed. There is more than one method you can use to delete it. This is the easiest means of removing Webroot from your Windows PC.

  1. Hold down the Windows key and the R key at the same time to open the Run box.

  2. Enter appwiz.cpl in the Run box and click OK. You can also open the Control Panel and select Uninstall a Program.

  3. Look through the Uninstall window until you locate the Webroot product.

  4. Right-click on Webroot, then click the Uninstall button.

    You may receive a notification that the Webroot Anti-virus is already running. If so, Right-click on the Webroot icon in the taskbar and select Shut Down.

  5. Enter the reCAPTCHA, then click the continue button to uninstall Webroot anti-virus from your PC.

How to Delete Webroot SecureAnywhere From a PC With Manual Removal

If the application wizard fails to work, you will need to attempt manual removal of the software. Fortunately, this is very easy to do.

  1. Boot your PC in Safe Mode.

  2. Navigate to the Windows search bar and type in Command Prompt. Once the program opens in the search window, click on Run as administrator.

  3. Type the following command into the command prompt window and hit enter: C:\Program Files\Webroot\WRSA.exe" –uninstall

  4. Once you enter the command, you will receive a prompt to uninstall Webroot. Fill in the reCAPTCHA and hit the continue button to finish removing the program.

If neither of these methods is successful in removing Webroot SecureAnywhere, Webroot offers a tool to help you uninstall the program entirely. Once you download the Removal Tool from Webroot's website, run it as an administrator and wait for the tool to remove Webroot altogether.

How to Delete Webroot SecureAnywhere From Mac

To uninstall Webroot SecureAnywhere from your Mac, you must make sure the program is shut down first. This can be accomplished by selecting the Webroot icon in the Mac’s menu bar, then clicking Shut Down SecureAnywhere. You can also control-click the app's icon in the Dock and select Quit.

  1. Confirm that you want to shut down SecureAnywhere, if prompted.

  2. Select the Finder icon in the dock.
