Stacy Fisher has been a technology educator for 25 years and has been writing professionally in the technology space online for over 20 years. What started as a High School teaching career where she taught personal finance, productivity software, programming, and desktop publishing, has turned into a passion for helping people get the most out of their technology for the best price.

This requires that Stacy be skilled at testing and research, but also identifying misrepresentations and false claims. Fortunately, Stacy developed and taught classes entirely focused around financial critical thinking and learning how to avoid being taken advantage of, specifically when it comes to situations online. She passes that knowledge on to you as she creates these articles for us.

Beyond her education and teaching experience, Stacy has been creating this kind of content even before Lifewire. She launched one of the largest "freebie" sites on the internet in 1999 and ran it for 5 years, showing early internet users where they could get free software, samples, and swag, long before it was commonplace.

Stacy's combination of her degree, specific teaching experiences, and deep involvement in the internet since its early days, together make her uniquely qualified and experienced be one of Lifewire's go-to experts when it comes to curating the best free software and services.

Stacy is also an experienced cable/satellite and streaming services journalist. While her Netflix Watch History alone would be credentials enough, she founded in 2008 (and still runs to this day) FreePreview.TV, a popular site dedicated to sharing accurate and up-to-date information on the latest free previews offered by cable, satellite, and live TV streaming services. Thanks to this incredibly niche venture, she has developed relationships with many in the movie, TV, and streaming industries which help support the work she does for us here at Lifewire.

Stacy also regularly ghostwrites for a handful of small movie review sites as well as a popular streaming services review site.

As a result of her experiences, Stacy has had the opportunity to appear as an expert on The Dr. Oz Show, be featured in full spreads in both Woman's World and The Denver Post, and join several local and national radio shows as an expert guest.

Education

Stacy holds a Bachelor's of Science in Business Education from Emporia State University.
