  • Locate folder to share > select Share > enter recipient email > set view or edit > select Share Folder.
  • No recipient Dropbox account: Same as above, except select Share Folder > Copy link > send link to recipient.

This article explains how to share a Dropbox folder with anyone on any platform so they can view or edit any file in that folder.

Sharing a Dropbox Folder

In your Dropbox account:

  1. Navigate to the folder you'd like to share.

  2. Select Share at the right side of the screen.

  3. Enter the email address of the recipient.

  4. Select whether your recipient can view or can edit the folder.

  5. If the recipient has a Dropbox account, select Share folder to send a notification email to the recipient via Dropbox. The email will contain a link to the folder.

    If the recipient doesn't have a Dropbox account or wants to see the folder without logging in, click Copy link so you can paste it into an email, text message, or another place, and send the link directly.
