The content on web pages can be exported to PDF format, shared, and then viewed on any computer, tablet, or smartphone, even without an internet connection. Here's how to save a web page as a PDF in the browser of your choice.

The PDF file format is popular for sharing documents because it's independent of the operating system and hardware you use.

Save a Web Page as a PDF in Google Chrome

The Print function in the menu is the key to creating a PDF file in Chrome.

  1. Select the Chrome Menu button, located in the upper-right corner of the browser window, and represented by three vertically-aligned dots.

  2. When the drop-down menu appears, select Print.

  3. In the Chrome Print dialog box, go to the Destination section and select Change.

  4. In the list of available printers and other destinations, select Save as PDF.

    If you do not have a printer set up, the Save as PDF option may appear by default.

  5. Select Save and choose the location on your computer where you would like to save the PDF file. You can also modify the file name before saving it.

Save a Web Page as a PDF in Firefox

In Firefox, saving a webpage as a PDF can also be accomplished through the print function.

  1. In Firefox, select the Open menu button indicated by three horizontal lines in the upper-right corner.

  2. From the drop-down menu, select Print...

  3. Select the PDF dropdown menu, then select Save as PDF.

  4. Choose a destination for the PDF file, then select Save.

Save a Web Page as a PDF in Microsoft Edge

The Print interface enables you to save a tab as a PDF in Edge.

  1. Select the Edge Menu button, located in the upper-right corner, represented by three horizontally-aligned dots.

  2. When the drop-down menu appears, select Print.

  3. In the Print dialog box, select the Printer drop-down menu, which usually shows the active printer by default.

  4. When the drop-down menu appears, select Save as PDF.

    You may also see Adobe PDF in the Printer menu, depending on what Adobe applications are installed on your PC. If so, you can choose this option as an alternative.

  5. Select Save.

  6. A Windows Explorer window appears, asking you to choose the location where you wish to save the PDF file. You can modify the file name before saving it. When you're satisfied with your choices, select Save.

Save a Web Page as a PDF in Opera

Opera allows you to save a page as a PDF without the need for a print menu.

  1. Select the Opera Menu button, represented by a red O located in the upper-left corner.

  3. Choose the location where you would like to save the PDF file. You can modify the file name before saving it.

Save a Web Page as a PDF in Safari

  1. Go to the File menu.

  2. When the drop-down menu appears, select Export as PDF.

  3. Choose a file name and location for the PDF file. When you're satisfied with your entries, select Save to complete the export process.
