This article explains how to snooze an email in Outlook so it disappears from your inbox and reappears at the time you designate. This information applies to Outlook for iOS on iPhone and iPad.
How to Snooze Outlook Emails on iOS
If you prefer not to see a certain message right now, don't delete the email. Instead, schedule it to appear later when you're more interested in reading the message. There are two ways to do this:
Snoozing and scheduling are two entirely different actions; the app supports both. To snooze an email means to "resend" it to your Inbox at a later date and is more of a reminder to yourself. To schedule an email means to send the message to someone at a later date.
Snooze Emails the Normal Way
Follow these directions to snooze (formerly called schedule) an email through the menu option:
-
Open the email, tap the three dots at the top, and then select Snooze.
-
Choose the desired time: Later Today, Tomorrow, This Weekend, Next Week, or Choose a Time.
-
If you selected the custom option, scroll through the dates and times until the time you want is highlighted. Tap the check mark to hide the email until the date and time selected.
Snooze Emails via Swiping
Another way to postpone an email in Outlook is through a swipe gesture. Follow these steps if you plan to do this often; it's much faster than the method explained above:
-
Tap the three-lined menu at the top left of the app, then choose Settings.
-
Tap Swipe Options.
-
Tap Swipe Right or Swipe Left and then choose Snooze from the list.
Now, when you complete the swipe gesture, you'll be given the same menu shown above, where you can pick how long to snooze the message.
How to Find Emails You've Snoozed in the Outlook App
Don't want to wait any longer to see your postponed emails? Outlook stores all your snoozed emails in one place. To find them, simply tap the menu button at the top of the app and then choose Snoozed.

How to Unsnooze an Email in Outlook for iOS
To undo and email snooze, maybe because you've already read it, is simple. All you need to do is repeat the above steps, but choose Unschedule.
-
Open the Snoozed menu as described above.
-
Open the email you no longer want to postpone.
-
Tap the three-dot menu and choose Snooze > Unschedule.
