This article explains how to play Among Us on a Mac using the Android version on an Intel Mac with the BlueStacks Android emulator or iOS version on an M1 Mac.

If you have an Intel Mac, the only way to play Among Us is to download and set up an Android emulator. If you don’t want to do that and have Bootcamp, you can also boot into Windows and get Among Us through Steam.

This method uses an Android emulator, but the Among Us developer supports this as an official way for Mac users to play. Unlike some developers that will ban you from using an emulator, that is unlikely to happen in this case. If you’re concerned, you can also play Among Us on an Intel Mac by dual-booting Windows and using the Windows game client instead.

Here’s how to get Among Us on an Intel Mac:

1. Download, install, and set up BlueStacks.

2. Launch BlueStacks.

   

   If Bluestacks doesn’t work, make sure that macOS is fully updated and that you’ve installed the latest version of Bluestacks. You may also need to uninstall Visual Box before installing Bluestacks, and you need to make sure to give Bluestacks permission to run when prompted.

3. Click LET’S GO on the My Apps tab.

   

4. Log into your Google account.

   

5. When the emulated Android desktop appears, click the App Center tab.

   

6. Type Among Us into the search field in the upper right corner, and press enter.

   

7. Locate Among Us in the search results, and click Install.

   

8. Wait for the Among Us page to appear in the Google Play Store, and click Install.

   

9. Wait for the app to download, and click Open.

   

10. Select touch controls or joystick controls, set your control options, and click OK.

    

11. Click GOT IT.

    

12. Click I Understand.

    

13. You’re ready to start playing Among Us.

    

How to Play Among Us on An M1 Mac

If you have an M1 Mac, you have a much easier path to play Among Us. Instead of emulating Android with Bluestacks, you can download and play the iOS version of Among Us. M1 Macs are capable of playing iOS games natively. Some iOS games aren’t available in the macOS app store, but Among Us is.

Here’s how to play Among Us on your M1 Mac:

1. Open the App Store, and type Among Us into the search field in the upper left corner.

   

2. On the search results page, click the iPad and iPhone apps tab.

   

3. Locate Among Us in the list of apps, and click Get.

   

4. Wait for the app to download, and click INSTALL.

   

5. If prompted, enter your Apple ID and password and click Get.

   

6. Click Open.

   

   Among Us will also be available in your Applications folder at this point, so you can also open it from there or by typing Among Us into Spotlight.

7. You’re ready to start playing Among Us.
