Choosing a good TV wall mount shouldn’t be complicated. As long as it is compatible with your TV, there isn’t much left to think about. Mounting Dream made it even simpler with a TV stand that can fit most televisions between 26 and 55 inches. With an arm that can swivel, tilt, and rotate, the MD2380 can transform a space with its full range of motion. Read on to see how it stacks up against the competition in our list of best TV wall mounts.

Design: High-quality build with a wide range of motion

The MD2380 comes preassembled as a pair of brackets connected by six arms. The TV bracket can attach to TVs with VESA between 3x3 inches and 16x16 inches. All the working parts feel high quality and strong, moving together smoothly. The mount retracts to just over 3 inches from the wall, a little too thick to be considered low profile.

Setup Process: One person can manage it

Setting up the MD2380 took under half an hour. Installation called for a 13mm socket, but either a metric socket or an imperial one will work fine. It's possible to locate the wall studs by using a magnet or knocking on the wall, but a stud finder is definitely ideal to be sure the TV will be secure. The wall plate is installed first, and then the brackets onto the back of the television, after which the TV can be hung to the wall plate by only one person so long as they can lift the television. A level is provided, but fine level adjustment is made with four leveling bolts, so the MD2380 is fairly forgiving.

Performance: Smooth movement offers peace of mind

Letting go of the television after hanging it up for the first time on my own was terrifying, but the MD2380 didn't let me down. Only gentle pressure is needed to extend the arms to their full 15.2-inch length. The arms retract back to the wall just as smoothly, without the slightest hint of wobble. The television should be removed to change the tilt, but otherwise, it will not impede the rotation (+/-3) and swiveling (+/-45 degrees) of the mount. The TV and mount both remained stable through the entire range of motion.

Price: Excellent quality for a low price

For under $50, the MD2380 is just plain cheap, and I don’t mean that as a dirty word. Competition is driving the price down for TV mounts in general, but Mounting Dream holds onto its status as one of the best thanks to reliably good quality.

MD2380 vs. Cheetah Mount

While the MD2380 has a fairly large range of motion, it isn’t enough to suit everyone’s needs. The Cheetah Mount is available on Amazon for under $40 and has a much larger range of motion, swiveling up to 130 degrees.

Achieving such a large range of motion requires articulating arms, which can be difficult to retract if they get in an awkward position. Because the TV feels wobbly on the mount, trying to adjust its position is a little nerve-racking. The mount is undoubtedly very secure, though, so that feeling will diminish with use.

Final Verdict

A cheap and durable TV mount built to last.
The MD 2380 might be the last TV mount you’ll ever have to buy. With a wide range of motion, design that fits most television sizes, an excellent build quality sturdy enough to keep TVs up to 99 pounds securely on the wall, there’s nothing left to ask for from a TV mount.
