Now You Can Be Lego Metallica in 'Fortnite'

Oh, and there's a musical experience, too

Sure, sure, we get that Metallica coming to Fortnite for a special musical event and a new Festival Battle Royale mode is exciting.

But Metallica as Lego MiniFigs? That's the best news right there.

James, Lars, Kirk, and Robert will take the stage in a musical experience Fortnite is calling Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury. You'll be able to join the fun on Saturday, June 22, at 2, 5, and 11 pm ET, or Sunday, the 23rd, at 10, 2, and 5 ET.

"Experience Metallica’s music like never before in Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury," the company writes on its blog page. "This journey through six of Metallica’s fan-favorite songs features gameplay that matches the intensity. The Master of Puppets awaits…"

There's a new PVP Battle Stage in Festival mode, too, putting 16 players into one stage to battle it out, musical style. You'll get points to move up in the Season 4 Festival Pass, too, on the Battle Stage, Jam Stage, or Main Stage.

The Festival Pass also nets you free and Premium Rewards (if you pay for the latter), including outfits for the whole band. You'll get Lars Ulrich just for purchasing the Premium Reward Track, too. The new season goes live June 13.

In the main Fortnite Battle Royale Mode, you'll be able to find Ride the Lightning guitars (on the ground or in chests) that can create lightning arcs in the sky that you can ride, making the marketing term quite literal. At the end, you can crash down on your enemies, too.

Fortnite's Rocket League also gets some fun metal-band content, too. The Metallica Cup starts June 18, with players able to earn a new Ringer Emote before it goes on sale in the Fortnite shop. You can play up to ten matches within your region’s three-hour time window for the points to win this emote.

But, really, it's all about the Metallica MiniFigs, right?
