Experience

Jennifer Allen has been writing about technology since 2010. She specializes in iOS and Apple technology, wearables, smart home devices, and gaming. She's been a regular tech columnist for Paste Magazine and has written for Wareable, TechRadar, Mashable, and PC World, as well as more diverse outlets, including Playboy and ​Eurogamer.

She has written about subjects as varied as connected adult toys, smart clothing products, and gadgets to help people with disabilities, as well as more conventional subjects such as mobile devices, fitness gadgets, smart home technology, and everything in between. She also regularly writes about other topics, including gaming, film, and fitness. 

In the 30 years she's played video games, she's purchased nearly every gaming console available. She spends her spare time playing games solo and with friends, and streaming games online.

My Gear

My set-up is a MacBook Pro that I regularly dual boot between MacOS and Windows 10. I also carry an iPad Air, an iPhone, and a Samsung Galaxy phone. Besides those, I also have two Apple TV devices, a Fitbit, a series of WearOS-based smartwatches, an Apple Watch, every games console possible, and an impressive number of different Bluetooth speakers and headphones. I also regularly maintain several different Windows-based PCs.

 

Education

Jennifer received a Bachelor's Degree in Media and Communication Studies from Swansea University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Games Design from Staffordshire University. Much of her studies focused on how games and technology have impacted society.
