    What to Know

    • In Chrome: Tap the three-dots, choose Settings, scroll down to the Advanced section and tap Privacy, then tap Clear browsing data.
    • In Firefox: Tap the three-dots, choose Settings > Clear private data, select Browsing history, then tap Clear Data.
    • In Opera: Tap the Opera logo, choose Settings, then scroll down to the Privacy section and tap Clear browsing data.

    This article explains how to delete browsing history on Android using eight mobile browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, and Dolphin. The information should apply no matter who made your Android phone (Samsung, Google, Huawei, Xiaomi, and others).

    Clear History on Chrome

    1. Tap three-dot menu icon.

    2. Tap Settings.

    3. Scroll down to the Advanced section and tap Privacy.

    4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Clear browsing data.

    5. Check Browsing history.

    6. Tap Clear Data.

    7. To clear history for period of time: on the Clear browsing data screen, tap Advanced at the top.

    8. Underneath Advanced is a drop-down menu that says Last hour. Tap on the down arrow next to Last hour and choose the relevant drop-down (see tip above).

    9. Check off Browsing history.

    10. Tap Clear data.

    You can also clear data from a specified time period: Last hour, Last 24 hours, Last 7 days, Last 4 weeks, or All Time.

    Clear History on Firefox

    1. Tap three-dot menu icon.

    2. Tap Settings.

    3. Tap Clear private data.

    4. Check off Browsing history.

    5. Tap Clear Data.

    6. To clear your data every time you quit Firefox, go to Settings > Privacy. Then check off Clear private data on exit.

    7. A Quit option will be added to your menu choices underneath Help.

    Firefox also has an option to automatically clear your data when you quit the app.

    Clear History on Opera

    Opera also makes it easy to clear your history.

    1. Tap the Opera logo on the bottom right of your screen.

    2. Tap Settings.

    3. Scroll down to the Privacy section and tap Clear browsing data.

    4. Check off Clear browsing history on the pop-up screen.

    5. Tap OK.

    The process is similar in Microsoft's most recent browser.

    1. Tap the three-dot menu at the bottom right of your screen.

    2. Tap Settings.

    3. Scroll down to the Advanced section and tap Privacy.

    1. Tap the three-dot menu at the bottom right of your screen.

    2. Tap Settings.

    3. Tap Privacy and security.

    4. Tap Delete browsing data.

    Clear History on Ecosia

    To clear your browsing history on the ecologically oriented browser Ecosia:

    1. Tap the three-dot menu at the bottom right of your screen.

    2. Tap Settings.

    3. Tap Privacy.

    4. Tap Clear browsing data.

    5. Check off Browsing history.

    6. Tap Clear.

    7. Like Chrome and Edge, Ecosia also has the option to clear data from a specified time period: last hour, last 24 hours, last 7 days, last 4 weeks, or all time.

    8. On the Clear browsing data screen, tap Advanced at the top.

    9. Underneath Advanced, tap Last hour in the drop-down menu.

    1. Tap Dolphin icon at the bottom of the screen.

    2. Tap Clear data.

    3. Check off Browsing history.

    4. Tap Clear selected data.

    Remember, if you were using a borrowed device, it's a good idea to delete your history.
