How to Change the Battery in a Logitech Mouse

How Do You Open a Logitech Mouse Battery Compartment?

Unless you are using a Logitech rechargeable wireless mouse, this is just a matter of taking off the battery cover, removing the old batteries, and installing the new ones.

Replace the Batteries From the Bottom

If you have a Logitech mouse that has a bottom battery compartment, it should be easy to change the batteries out.

1. Flip your mouse over and slide the Power switch into the Off position. Depending on the model mouse you're using, this could be located anywhere on the bottom.

Replace the Batteries From the Top

If you're using a Logitech mouse model with a top battery case, you'll need to release the lock on the battery door before you can open it.

1. Turn your mouse over and slide the Power switch to the Off position.

2. Then locate the battery door lock release. This is probably located near the power button, and you may either have to press and release it, slide and release it, or slide and hold it until the door is open.

3. Once you have the button in the correct position, look at the top of the mouse for a seam for the battery compartment. Once you find it, you'll either slide the plastic covering the battery compartment or you may have to pry it up. Use gentle pressure to remove it.

4. When the battery compartment door has been removed, remove the old batteries and replace with the new ones being sure to insert the new batteries properly.

5. Then slide the battery compartment cover back onto the mouse and turn the Power back On. Your mouse should automatically reconnect with your computer.
