Experience

An Emmy Award-winning executive producer, journalist, and media strategist, Barclay Palmer held senior editorial roles with leading global news and media outlets, including CBS, CNN, Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg, PBS, and Newsweek. Barclay played a leadership role in creating the Edward R. Murrow Award-winning CBSN, CBS News' OTT platform. At CBS and Newsweek Media Group, he developed digital native video production styles and distribution channels.

At Thomson Reuters, Barclay created the multiple Webby-winning "Reuters TV" programming line up as a Google/YouTube Original Content Partner. He designed and managed breakout digital and social media strategies at CBS News Digital, CNN, Thomson Reuters, and Newsweek. At CNN, Barclay played senior roles and won multiple awards in launching Amanpour, Anderson Cooper 360, and NewsNight with Aaron Brown (2.0). He developed new production techniques as executive producer of CNN's New York Bureau. He produced for the award-winning newsmagazine shows CNN NewsStand and CNN & Fortune, as well as global breaking news, business and financial news, and investigative reporting. 

Barclay serves on the board of a privately held energy company, is an investor in several early stage companies, and serves as a consultant.

Education

Barclay earned his bachelor's from Amherst College and a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University.
