Prerequisites

There are generally no legal prerequisites for participating in a vocational trainer course. An exception is the canton of Schwyz, which requires at least two years of professional experience. The Vocational Education Office of your working canton is responsible for accreditation as a vocational training manager and for issuing a training permit.

The minimum professional requirements for vocational trainers are defined in the training regulations of the respective vocational field. These include a certain number of years of professional practice in the teaching field and a Federal VET Diploma (EFZ) or a higher professional qualification (BP/HF).

Once these legal prerequisites are met and the federally recognized vocational trainer certificate is obtained, the Vocational Education Office of the working canton will issue the permit.
