A fascinating book which looks at how the Bond films reacted to the times in which they were made, suggesting that the political gloom of the early 1970s was a key factor in the 007 scripts getting lighter in tone.
I was partway done when I thought there was nothing new. But then I read a part about how Bond-mania caused a riot. It is vignettes like that which made the book a must-read.
