Join our series of fun kids and parents events free to learn and get inspired from other coding fans from all over the world. There will be plenty of aahs and wows! You will find your child more motivated to code, create, and learn!

AI Explorers - Introduction (free event)

  • From self-driving cars, humanoids to AI generated art and ChatGPT, AI is one of the fast growing areas in technology. What is AI? What are some of the cool things it can do? Join this event to learn fun cutting-edge AI applications created by companies like Google and Nvidia. Your child will enjoy lots of group discussions, interaction with the instructor, and hands-on projects.

    We run this free event regularly and the same content is covered every time. To explore deeper about AI, checkout our small group courses:

    • AI Explorers (grades 4 - 9) - a broad overview of a variety AI applications and technologies, such as computer vision, Chatbot, robotics, and generative AI.

    • Create with ChatGPT - (grades 4 -7) - learn how to use ChatGPT as a tool for panning, brainstorming, and creating your own chatbot.

    • AI Creators (grades 6-12) - deep dive to learn how to code AI applications covering in Python.

  • They are in your phone, and they are in your car. They light up your house, and they run roller coasters. What are they? They're electronic circuits and they're everywhere!

    In this fun free online event series, your child will learn the basics of electronic circuits using Snap Circuits. We will build several fun projects each time, while learning what a circuit is, how circuits work, and how to add more parts in a circuit to make sounds, light, and more! They will also learn sensors and advanced content such as integrated circuits.

  • Your child will have a much better experience if you have a SNAP CIRCUITS® JR set or above. You can get a set at Amazon for ~$20 when it is on sale for the most basic model. However, having a set is not required. Your children are welcome to join, observe, and learn, as we also cover general engineering topics.

Space Explorers: NASA Citizen Science Adventure

  • Does your child love space and science? This amazing 1-hour free event will introduce students to the exciting world of NASA’s Citizen Science and how they can contribute too! Join us as Heather Hewitt, an Astrophysics PhD candidate at Arizona State University with a BS in Astrophysics from the University of Georgia, and teenager Sophie Saibi take you on an incredible journey through the stars.

    Heather, an Astrophysics PhD candidate at Arizona State University, will share her passion for making astronomy accessible to everyone. She’ll introduce you to fun and engaging Citizen Science projects like Exoplanet Watch and DIY Planet Search, where you can help discover new planets!

    Sophie, a rising sophomore in the San Francisco Bay Area, has been interested in astronomy since 7th grade, when she first heard about the James Webb Space telescope. She became a member of the UNITE Citizen Science community in 2023. One of her most exciting contributions is collecting measurements of the SN2023ixf supernova that appeared last year in the Pinwheel Galaxy.

    Get ready for a space adventure that will inspire and excite your budding scientist!

  • For students who enjoy NASA or want to learn more about science, join our small group NASA Science Class led by experienced teachers. Kids will learn all about rockets, Mars, the International Space Station, the Solar System, and a lot more.

  • The world is changing: record-breaking heat waves, widespread drought, intense hurricanes, and the accompanying disappearance of habitats for animals on land, in rivers, and in oceans. Encourage your student to enter our Code for Nature challenge, and apply what they have learned to raise awareness, protect the environment, help those affected by environmental change, and potentially solve environmental issues. Submit your project by August 25th for a chance to be one of 10 winners to win a $15 Amazon gift card!

    To help students create their projects, we are hosting a series of free live online events led by an expert:

    • July 20th at 11 am PT: Introduction to the challenge, collecting data, and identifying local environmental issues you're passionate about

    • July 26th at 5:00 pm PT: Defining project ideas for the issues you've identified

    • August 4th at 11 am PT: Coding assistance - come ask any questions you might have

    • August 16th at 5:00 pm PT: Coding assistance and guidance on how to submit projects

  • Does your child love Minecraft? This awesome 1-hour free event will introduce your child to another dimension of Minecraft - Learn Coding!. We will setup Minecraft Education first and then get everyone started on a self-guided tutorial that teaches basics of block coding on Minecraft. Your child will be introduced to Minecraft coding by completing a series of challenges with code to save the future by solving mysterious mishaps in time.

    For students who enjoy Minecraft or want to learn more advanced coding skills after Scratch coding, join our small group Minecraft Coding Quest classes with experienced teachers. We will go a lot deeper into Minecraft coding and build fun structures like super long roller coasters or Minecraft mini-games all with code! Learn and have a fun ride! :)

    Notes - This free event covers the same content each time and will have many students attending unlike our small group classes which include 3-5 students max.

  • You don't need to own Minecraft to join this class. We will email you instructions about Minecraft after registration.

  • The Olympics are just around the corner! Get ready to share your passion for sports and join the Olympic spirit by creating fun Olympics-themed Scratch games.

    This exciting, free event will help your child continue building their coding skills with Scratch, a beginner-friendly platform designed by MIT, perfect for young learners. Your student will apply what they've learned about Scratch coding, such as loops and variables, while enhancing their problem-solving skills under the guidance of an expert. They will have plenty of opportunities to be creative, designing and coding their own Olympic-themed game inspired by their favorite sports like gymnastics, swimming, basketball, or any event they choose. By creating their own Olympic challenge, your child will practice essential coding skills while having a blast bringing their Olympic dreams to life! Who will take home the prize?

    The project is most suitable for students who have completed at least Scratch Ninja 1 and Scratch Ninja 2 with Create & Learn or have equivalent knowledge. Start learning today, and we'll see you at this special event soon!
