Electronics Recycling
We're proud to participate in the Alberta Electronic Recycling Program to help keep old TVs, and computer equipment out of the landfill. Eligible items include televisions, computers, laptops & tablets, printers, copiers, scanners and fax machines.
Expanded Electronics Recycling Program Pilot
Over 500 new items have been added for recycling. In addition to computers, televisions and printers, bring in your small household appliances, tools, motorized toys etc. for recycling. Check out the list of Pilot Program items, ask at your landfill or transfer station for more information.
Recycling and Disposal of Household Hazardous Waste
Household hazardous items such as paint and household chemicals are accepted year-round at the landfills and transfer stations. No barrels please! Check out your nearest facility and the items accepted above.
Every spring we host a Recycling Roundup in partnership with the Alberta Recycling Management Authority.
Used Oil, Containers, and Filters
Our landfills and transfer stations accept used lubricating oil, empty oil containers and used oil filters. No water or antifreeze in the oil please! Put antifreeze in a separate container and place in the Hazardous waste area.

Return your refundable bottles to the bottle donation trailer at the Clairmont Centre for Recycling & Waste Management and contribute to local non-profit and charitable groups through Bottle Donation Program.

Why flatten cardboard and boxboard before placing it in recycling? |
| Flattening cardboard allows more product to fit in the bin. If cardboard is not flattened, the bins will fill up quickly and less cardboard is collected for recycling. |
Why should my plastics, tin cans, and glass be clean, dry and label free? |
| Items must be clean and dry to prevent contamination. Contaminated items cannot be recycled. Rinsing helps reduce odours and mould from developing and reduces attracting insects and animals to the bins. |
Why do items need to be separated at recycling bins? |
| This means that recyclables collected from bins must be clean and separated to avoid cross-contamination. Contaminated recyclable items end up being diverted to the waste pile. |
Why can't I recycle pizza boxes or used food containers? |
| Food and oil from food is one of the worst contaminants in the paper recycling process. If pizza boxes, and food soiled napkins and cardboard/paper are thrown in recycle it will contaminate the other products deeming it non-recyclable and thrown in the waste pile. |
Can I recycle cell phones, appliances, batteries and other electronics? |
| Yes, please take these items to the electronic waste area at the County Landfills or Transfer Stations. |
