Kim Seon-Ho’s K-Drama The Tyrant Release Date Revealed

Kim Seon-Ho is all set to appear in the Disney Plus K-drama The Tyrant. The actor, who was on a brief hiatus after his appearance in Hometown Cha Cha Cha, marks his much-awaited return with this K-drama. Meanwhile, the streaming platform announced that The Tyrant will be released on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. The storyline revolves around a project to find bioweapon samples that disappeared during a handover between Korean and US Intelligence agencies.

The upcoming Disney Plus K-drama promises an engaging storyline and a stellar cast. Aside from Kim Seon-Ho, The Tyrant also stars Jo Yoon-Soo, Cha Seung-Won, and Kim Kang-Woo in leading roles. Director Park Hoon-Jung of The Witch franchise helms the new series. Given its storyline and Kim Seon-Ho’s return to the big screen, viewers have been eagerly anticipating the K-drama.

Kim Seon-Ho makes his highly anticipated return with the Disney Plus K-drama The Tyrant. On Monday, July 8, 2024, the streaming platform announced the drama’s release date alongside a poster. As mentioned earlier, the series will be premiering on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, exclusively on Disney Plus.

The Tyrant reportedly revolves around a secret South Korean government program that produces samples indicating the enhancement of human abilities. However, the US Intelligence team discovers the program and asks the government to hand over all the samples and shut it down. However, during his handover, a crucial sample gets stolen. The two organizations must now collaborate to find the sample before it reaches the wrong people and causes damage.

The Disney Plus K-drama boasts a star-studded cast list. Kim Seon-Ho plays Director Choi Gook-Jang, the leader of the secret project. Jo Yoon-Soo will play infiltrator Chae Ja-Gyeong, whose mission is to steal the crucial last sample of the project. Meanwhile, Cha Seung-Won will essay the role of Im-Sang, a mercenary hired to eliminate people related to the program. Lastly, Kim Kang-Woo will be seen as US Intelligence Agent Paul.

Alongside The Tyrant’s release date announcement, Disney Plus also released an interesting poster. It depicts the final sample of the project, which is the central storyline. The poster shows the series’ title in an intense red color against the saturated dark blue background. The caption reads, “The last sample has disappeared.”
