We are delighted to welcome Regan Davies to our team! Regan has joined us for a student placement this summer and is based at our office in Cardiff. 👨🎓 Regan brings a diverse background in kitchen and bar work in restaurants, as well as community coaching for a semi-professional rugby team, where he has honed his skills in teamwork, communication, and leadership. In his free time, Regan enjoys spending time in the gym and assisting friends with their fitness aspirations. He says, “This has made me realise how much I enjoy guiding and motivating others. This enthusiasm for helping people aligns perfectly with my interest in civil engineering, where I can contribute to building and improving communities. We finish off our week by welcoming another new starter, Quintis Griffin, to our ever-growing Logistics Team! 🎉 Quintis joins us with over 25 years of experience across all sectors of the construction industry, from new builds to commercial fit-outs and refurbishments. He even ran his own small construction company in South Africa, specialising in refurbishments and fit-outs. In his spare time, Quintis loves the outdoors, fishing, and all sports related to cars. 🚗 Quintis shared his excitement about joining the GOLDBECK team: "I have been looking for a home to hang my hat. 🌟 New Starter of the Week: Paul James! 🌟 We are thrilled to welcome Paul James to the GOLDBECK team as a Site Manager based in Cardiff! Paul has been involved in construction from an early age and has built a strong track record of success in supporting projects and teams throughout the design, delivery, and inspection of various construction solutions. His experience spans all aspects of the construction process, including the supervision of specialist teams. With a disciplined, team-oriented mindset developed during his time as an Army professional, Paul is well-versed in all types of building works. Outside of work, Paul enjoys walking, gardening, and cars, and he’s dedicated to health and fitness. He’s also a big fan of football and rugby—basically anything involving a ball captures his interest! ⚽ 😍 On his reasons for joining GOLDBECK, Paul says: "I chose to join GOLDBECK because the future here looks incredibly bright. We're delighted to welcome a new starter to our Cardiff Team, Sion Owen, who joined us at the end of April this year. 🎉 Sion studied Civil Engineering at university and began his construction career as a setting out engineer on the iconic 52-storey Beetham Tower in Manchester. His interests then led him to spend 20 years in Design Management. Recently, Sion transitioned his technical delivery skills into the preconstruction and business development world, where he aims to help drive Goldbeck’s growth and impact in the UK. 🏗️ When asked about his reasons for joining GOLDBECK, Sion said, "Having initially come across GOLDBECK while competing against them for a local scheme, I was surprised to discover that many people hadn't heard much about them. However, as I delved deeper into their impressive portfolio and background, I found myself wondering why they weren't more active here. They really should be!" In his spare time, Sion enjoys sports and staying active, so he should have no problem blending in with our young team. ☺️ Welcome aboard, Sion! Exciting news from our Central Quay Cardiff project with RIGHTACRES PROPERTY CO. LIMITED. 🚧 We have completed Stair Core 2. ✅ Section 1 of the multi-storey car park is almost finished, with Section 2 starting soon. Grouting is progressing smoothly, and we're preparing to begin work on the retail slabs. Construction of the substation and LV switch room is underway, and cladding will start shortly.
