Last week Team Away was in beautiful Belgium 🇧🇪 for our latest team retreat! The team of 60 rented villas surrounding a lake and took part in activities including kayaking, SUP and high ropes courses before doing an epic forest survival activity as an entire team! In the last few weeks, Team Away have been busy doing site visits for clients going away in late summer and autumn 😎 We've found some amazing new partners and locations that are hidden team retreat gems that are in stunning locations, flexible in terms of accommodation and activities and crucially - affordable! 💎 When looking for retreat venues, we try to create a perfect balance, taking into consideration:  🗾 Location: the ideal retreat venue for our clients is 30-minutes or less from a major international airport. We mainly work with large distributed teams who end up arriving on 50+ different flights, so a well connected airport is a must. A venue close to the airport saves time and money on transfers and cuts down on anyone having to wait for a transfer. Did we mention we book all of the travel too? So it’s everyone’s interest to choose a location that works! Ideally, we also want the venue to be within walking distance to a village or town, as we know teams like to explore and have access to cafés, bars and shops. And last but not least, we want somewhere where we can arrange some amazing activities! Close to cultural sites, the beach, adventure options - we don’t want to be travelling too far to reach the good stuff.  📏 Size: For smaller teams, trying to get a whole venue works well. For our larger teams, we feel that bigger venues offer the infrastructure needed for a successful retreat with 100+ participants. Lots of space for private bookings, multiple dining options onsite, various room levels and layouts, and usually a designated team onsite to accommodate any wishes. With each client, we do a fully bespoke search to find the best option.  🛏 Twin Beds: A small but very important one! We need to make sure there are enough separate beds for teams who may be sharing rooms.  🌟 Reviews and our experience: Of course, we take into account what everyone else’s thinks of the venue and if we’ve sent teams there before, we’ll give their feedback.  💰 Budget: The big one. When we first start our search for a venue, we propose a few options to our clients that are all quite different in vibe, style, location and budget so they get a feel for what’s out there. We always ask for the budget for the retreat and propose options that are feasible, and always give an estimated price per head for the total retreat.  Seems like a lot, right? 🤪 We absolutely love finding the perfect option for each client, and saving the team so much time researching various options. 🌞 Remote work gone AMAZING: Marbella trip with the Tribe! 🌴 Thrilled to share the success of our latest team-building getaway! At Tribe, we believe in the power of fostering strong connections even in a remote-first environment. From poolside chats to brainstorming sessions, our 5-day getaway was a perfect blend of work and play, all wrapped up in that signature Tribe-Vibe 😉 We also dived into a productive workshop: we discussed company strategy and OKRs from the poolside, brainstorming ideas to propel Tribe.xyz to even greater heights. Massive kudos to Team Away for organizing everything flawlessly, allowing us to focus on what matters the most: bonding over shared experiences (and questionable dance moves 😆)! I've just returned from our astonishing Tribe.xyz Team Trip to Malaga & Marbella! 🏖️ 🌞 🇪🇸 As we are a fully remote team, it was a beautiful experience turning zoom faces into real ones. Everyone was joking about what height they initially had thought people were which was priceless. Ciao! 🇮🇹 Our working trip to Venice was a huge success! Being a remote company makes moments like this truly beneficial and it ignites the team with so many incredible ideas. A huge thanks to Team Away for organising the perfect getaway in such a beautiful city where we could spend some time in person together, collaborate and let our hair down. We got to take in the sights, learn about Venetian culture and enjoy some delicious food and fun activities.
