Ozone | Powering the Premium Web

Today, on the sixth anniversary of Ozone's launch, we are excited to announce the first results from testing of the 'Premium Web Methodology', conducted by PwC. The aim of the work is to validate the operating principles underpinning our premium publisher digital advertising platform, providing a best practice framework for success in the first-party web. This independent review of Ozone's approach was unveiled yesterday – on the first day of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity – with a panel discussion led by our CEO Damon alongside ISBA's Bobi Carley, PwC's Adam Edelshain and Ozone's CSO Dora. On Thursday, we had the great privilege of attending the annual ISBA President's Lunch that saw Boots' Pete Markey announced as the new ISBA President, Natwest's Margaret Jobling – outgoing President – announce the first ever recipients of the President's Awards, and ISBA's Phil Smith lead a fascinating fireside chat with LBC's James O'Brien. Yesterday, a new UK parliament sat for the first time since last week’s 2024 election returned a majority Labour Government, led by Prime Minister Keir Starmer, concluding another moment in British history. Since the election was called at the end of May, we’ve been analysing reader engagement trends across our Premium Web platform, as our publisher partners have covered the action. Our latest Reading the Nation & Election Insights special is here. While the summer of sport boosted reader engagement with Tennis (Wimbledon), Formula 1 (British GP) and Football (EURO 2024), last week's biggest story was Labour's historic landslide victory in the 2024 UK General Election. ✘ Reader engagement with Politics content grew by +56% last week to a record 93.0m page views, driven by  6.4x higher Elections page views. ✘ On results day, we saw +20% more readers than the prior seven-day average, as new audiences turned to our publishers for trusted coverage. ✘ Content sentiment shows Keir Starmer’s characteristically cautious campaigning approach drove positive sentiment editorial grow 12%pts, while negative sentiment editorial fell 9%pts ✘ Over the election’s six-week duration, Brits read c.150m editorial pages about the biggest policy areas to stay informed about them with Healthcare the most-read area. 🗳️ ICYMI, this Thursday the country goes to the polls, and for the past six weeks Reading the Nation has been covering changes in reader interest and sentiment across our premium publishers content. The latest edition below features the final update before tomorrow's election. 🎤 Last week – along with Glasto and Pride hitting the topical headlines – we saw Reform UK's racism row drive levels of negative content sentiment for the party to 61% – equal with the Tories – but with positive sentiment content four points behind.
