    Here at INIT Ltd. in the heart of Nottingham, we are delighted that the £2 single fare cap is to continue to run on buses until the end of 2024. The scheme has been extended a number of times, but current funding was set to cease at the end of June in England. The DfT has confirmed it will continue the fare cap until the end of the year for bus companies and local councils taking part in the scheme. We work with bus, tram and train operators, including Nottingham City Transport to supply innovative hard and software solutions such as ticketing systems to enable the easy implementation of these capped fares - helping residents to travel around our city more cheaply. #contactlesspayments #publictransport #futureofmobility https://lnkd.in/eRZzfJWh

    Right now the UITP Cybersecurity Committee is meeting at INIT headquarters in Karlsruhe. According to UITP, “(…) cyber security is critical for the public transport sector. Transport systems often involve large amounts of sensitive data, including personal information of passengers and employees. This makes them a target for cyber attacks. They are also vital infrastructure, and disruptions caused by cyber attacks can have serious consequences for the safety and reliability of the service.” The UITP Cybersecurity Committee focuses on ensuring the security of public transport systems, and is designed to address the growing threat of cyber-attacks. A special guest today is UITP Secretary General Mohamed Mezghani.   INIT has played an active role in the Cybersecurity Committee since its foundation with Paul Gwynn being the committee’s chair. INIT adheres to strict cyber security in the development, production, implementation (project management process), maintenance and operations of its delivered systems and services, certified by ISO/IEC 27001:2017.     Yesterday we hosted a wonderful evening to celebrate winning the Transport for London next generation iBus project and to start to build relationships between our organisations. The event was held in the stunning German Gymnasium, Kings Cross, central London. Now the hard work begins in earnest to deliver the new service for TfL. Thank you to everyone at TfL, their bus operators and other partners for joining us and making it such a wonderful evening.     INIT Ltd. based in Nottingham is delighted to announce that our latest solutions have recently been installed on Nottingham City Transport’s brand new electric buses - the result of another successful joint project with our trusted partner of many years. The buses have been fitted with innovative hardware including INIT’s latest on-board computer, offering an enhanced user experience for NCT’s drivers such as a new driver screen redesigned with excellent pixel resolution and automatic brightness adjustment. Passengers will benefit from improved visibility on display screens inside the bus. Dedicated INIT engineers have fitted INIT’s new ultra-wide passenger display screen which boasts improved integration with cctv cameras inside the buses and provides route, next stop and real-time transfer information and infotainment on a high-resolution ultra-wide display. Jens Mullak, INIT Ltd. Managing Director said, “The expansion of the NCT fleet is great news for Nottingham’s residents and the fact that these buses are fully electric is evidence of NCT’s and INIT’s ongoing commitment to the city’s environmental objectives. We are very proud of the strong partnership that continues between our two companies.”
