Ransome’s Dock is a celebration of Battersea’s industrial heritage. Building upon the previous consent for new rooftop homes, this scheme aims to respond to updated local policy and improve the whole site by transforming the communal spaces and increasing the quality and quantity of commercial space to create a truly mixed-use development - more on this in the link below. All Saints Passage - a new build mixed-use development that mirrors the green foliage from the nearby Wandsworth Common. The material palette draws inspiration from local precedents and was carefully selected not to overshadow and sit in harmony with the neighbouring All Saints Church within which it sits behind. The brickwork adds a crafted character to the exterior and mirrors the green landscape of nearby Wandsworth Common and contrasts against the wet cast stone which adds a robust quality to the development. Internally, large floor-to-ceiling windows fill the apartments with natural light, with each home boasting its own terrace and access to a large rooftop garden with planters and seating. Exposed concrete ceilings add an industrial touch to these bright spacious homes. Thrilled to share our collaboration with POoR Collective and Barnet Council for the London Festival of Architecture to reimagine the dilapidated #CopthallSportsPavilion in Barnet. The design for the pavilion focuses on actively engaging members of the public and the community. The choice of bold iconography and colourful motifs guide the user around the building, offering places to draw, play and interact. Children and adults are encouraged to try football target practice, shoot basketball hoops, run laps around the Pavilion and ‘make your mark’ on its walls. A colourful new mural was introduced, as a result of community engagement workshops which were an integral part of the redesign process. Our temporary intervention encourages people of all ages to get involved with sports and invites the community to engage and have their say on the future of the building. The project was the result of an open competition to revitalise the two-storey sports pavilion as a community hub. The team have worked with the legacy of the site and surroundings to provide public interactions with the building. We had a great turn out for activation day and lots of valuable feedback from consultation attendees. Had an inspiring evening with Build The Way C.I.C at their trainee showcase event at Solus showrooms. Over the past 8 months, I've had the privilege of serving on the advisory board for this program. It's been incredible to witness firsthand how it's evolving and making a significant impact on young creatives. In an industry that often talks about apprenticeships but rarely delivers, especially in architecture where Level 6 apprenticeships are nearly non-existent, this program truly stands out. It has the potential to provide much-needed access and opportunities to the next generation of talent. Programs like this need funding and investment to grow. If you're interested in supporting it, please contact me and I’ll connect you to the team. Congrats to all involved this evening and to everyone who has got this groundbreaking programme to where it is today. Applications are open now to the third cohort of apprentices 👇 https://lnkd.in/gVbGjUte GPAD HUT Architecture Morrow + Lorraine shedkm Charles Bettes Neal Shasore Shawn Adams Rachael Davidson Sophie Draper Annie S. A celebration of industrial heritage utilising a saw-tooth roofscape, raw materials and a focus on the landscaping and greenery across a mixed-use site composed of four buildings. The mini masterplan and refurbishment exercise seeks to create quality places to live and work that build on the rich industrial and design focused context of the site. A new independent entrance object connects residents to the external walkway, which looks over a planted courtyard space that is shared with the other buildings, where retention was maximised. The walkway provides access to five sky houses that float over the office, restaurant and retail spaces below. Looking forward to developing this scheme further for planning and being able to share more in the coming months.
