About us

Ethical, transparent and sustainable awards programme and The Purpose Summit... a day of insight, advice and bright ideas. You’ll be inspired by experienced business leaders and Global Good Award winners, learning how they have turned purpose-led strategies into action, and take part in interactive sessions revealing how change happens. It is the ethos of the Global Good Awards that makes us stand out from the crowd. We believe that if we are to recognise and reward change across all aspects of purpose-driven sustainability and social impact, then we have to be walking that talk ourselves. We’re independent. We’re not tied to any large publishing or event company, which means that our decisions and actions are not influenced by any vested interests or operational restrictions; we are free to develop the Global Good Awards in line with our ethos. Each year, we continue to push the sustainability boundaries further: from our venues to our menus, from our dress code to our printed material… everything we do is sustainable. You can read more detail about what we do here: Our Responsibility.

As an awards body, we don't just look to celebrate others doing great things; we want to ensure we're doing what we can to 'walk the talk' too. One of the ways we do this is by supporting the amazing work of Cool Earth: - we donate 1% of all turnover from sponsorship, entry fees and ticket sales, - we give a £5 donation per paid entry via their clever CarbonCork initiative - we help to protect rainforest canopies via their carbon capture projects, to match the emissions from our event that we aren’t able to remove. We're delighted that we can play this small part in helping Cool Earth to work with communities from the Amazon to Papua New Guinea in finding creative solutions to rainforest protection - solutions that reduce deforestation rates by up to 82%. In the Amazon, where illegal mining threatens lives and nature, a community has started sustainable fish farming. This project is not only providing food but also offering an economic alternative to practices that destroy rainforest. It shows how supporting local ideas can address global challenges. Meanwhile, in Papua New Guinea, a water and sanitation project is having rainforest-saving benefits. Health centres are seeing fewer patients, showing how basic improvements can have a big impact on people's health and the environment. You can read all the updates here (and THANK YOU, Cool Earth, for everything you're doing 💚 ) >> https://lnkd.in/giaiC-Qt

While many of us so called 'grown ups' continue trying to make the world a better place, we're also acutely aware of the next generation of leaders-in-waiting who are already making an impact around environmental and social issues that matter to them. At the Global Good Awards, we've had the pleasure of working in partnership with Canon for the last five years, on the Young Champion category, open to changemakers aged between 17-25. As our judges pored over the entries, it became very clear, very quickly, that they had quite a job on their hands to come up with a shortlist! We're delighted that we now have ten finalists - five in each age group category - who will be eagerly waiting to hear if they've made the top spot when we hold our awards ceremony in October. Find out who they are, and why they've made the shortlist by clicking here >> https://lnkd.in/eYwP-axG   You can also read up on how some of our previous winners have been continuing their efforts since receiving their award here >> https://lnkd.in/eVjn8K4U

With the finalists announced and our 2024 programme over halfway through, this is the time to grab a sponsorship bargain and join our other purpose-led sponsors. We’re offering sponsorship packages for categories, drink’s reception, headline and a special SME and Start-up partner opportunity… starting from as little as £1,995 + VAT!   We build genuine, sustainable relationships with our sponsors, and we think carefully before inviting a company to work with us – they must be able to demonstrate their purpose-driven sustainability and good governance, as they will be sharing the limelight with ‘Global Good’ – not only on the event days, but throughout our whole communications cycle.   Don’t take our word for it… this is what Canon have to say about working with us: “Working with the Global Good Awards team, has been a pleasure. The passion, dedication and sheer single-minded, purpose-driven approach of the team has been exemplary. We have now been partnering for five years and each year we have grown both the reach and depth of our collaboration – reaching more young people with great ideas, in more places around the world.” Adam Pensotti | Head of Young People Programme, Canon EMEA   So, is that your organisation? As we approach the final final deadline for the Global Good Awards, we wanted to highlight three categories that are close to our heart, and encourage any last minute entries. In all cases, we're looking for tangible, quantitative progress and commitment to the cause - you may well be on your journey to perfect!   *SME of the Year* We know it's been tough for the unsung heroes that are small and medium organisations, that play a vital - yet, often, overlooked - role in business. We want to recognise SME's which are clear leaders in the field; which set an example for others to follow and so drive progress across the board. Judges do not expect perfection in all aspects of a company’s activities: sustainability is a challenging journey, particularly for an SME with limited resources. But they will be looking for evidence of all round desire for ‘good’, with a constant thread of sustainability and responsible decisions in aspects including employees, local community, and the environment.   *Climate Action: Race to Net Zero* C.S Lewis wrote “Failures are finger posts on the road to achievement”, and this beautifully sums up our motivation for this category – to seek progress, not perfection. If your organisation is working tirelessly to lessen the carbon footprint impact of your business activities as part of a clear goal to reach Net Zero, we want to hear from you! Winners will be expected to be progressing carbon reduction in-house, and within their supply chain, as well as the impact of its work and products ‘in use’.   *Humanitarian Response Champions* We're looking for stories which illustrate the best in humanity’s response to crisis - whether at home or away; ones which can inspire others and set an example of how people can come together in the face of adversity for basic human rights and the common good. We've widened the scope from last year, to cover responses to any potential emerging large-scale humanitarian crisis such as war/conflict, natural disasters, extreme weather events. This could include providing direct aid and material support to those affected, offering refuge, or boosting the resilience of local communities. There are still nearly three days left to get those entries in, and we would LOVE to have the best of the best in our line-up. As ever, we're on hand to answer any questions, particularly if you're not sure if your story fits what we're looking for - we're here to help! https://lnkd.in/eD9xPqv8

If you'd like to take advantage of this extra time, please contact Karen by email ASAP with your intensions along with which category you'll be entering, as we will be preparing everything for the judging process, so advanced notice would be appreciated. https://lnkd.in/eD9xPqv8

Earlier this week, I was watching Newsnight and was horrified at some guy arguing that social media and owning an unrestricted mobile phone under the age of 16 was NOT responsible for the increased anxiety, sleep disorders, bullying, mental health issues etc in our young people. NONSENCE! There is enough evidence out there to say there is! If you're in agreement, please sign this petition for the #SaferSocials campaign run by the amazing (and multi Global Good Awards winners!) Global Action Plan and here's a video to explain what they are doing... (link to petition in first comment). Nicky O'Malley https://lnkd.in/euZ7d8Sw
