We believe that athletics can contribute towards a healthy lifestyle and a sense of achievement, whatever the age, ability or background of the athlete or volunteer. We should promote inclusive working at all times and reflect this in our actions.

Great to see our CEO Chris Jones sharing his thoughts on our work championing diversity across our sport, as well as collaborating with others across the sector. Looking forward to further posts over the coming months.
I don’t often post on LinkedIn, but I felt honoured to be a panel speaker yesterday at the annual Sporting Equals, State of the Sector Race Equality event, joining colleagues from across the sector to discuss, learn and work collaboratively at all levels to help make sport an even more inclusive and diverse space for all, whatever background, ability, or aspiration. From an England Athletics perspective, we have been working hard to increase the profile of role models across coaches, athletes and officials, as well as ensuring diversity in our governance and decision making. This is reflected in an A grade for the second year in a row in our for Board diversity in the annual Race Representation Index which analyses gender and ethnic diversity across senior positions in NGBs. Going forwards over the next few months I have taken the plunge and will be posting more frequently on LinkedIn, highlighting some of key opportunities and achievements both across the sport of athletics and the sports sector more broadly. #diversity #leadership #rri2023 #race #inclusion #ree2024
