🚨 New Series Alert 🚨 Our creative team have truly been cooking over the last few months, and we’re finally ready to share it with you all… 🧑🍳 Allow us to present our new video project, Climate+ The theme for this series is intersectionality — it’s a word that is crucial to both understanding the causes and devising effective solutions to the climate crisis. We’ve teamed up with the good folks at Oxfam to create a five-part series all about the links between climate change and other issues like gender, conflict, class, colonialism, and health. We’ll be releasing five episodes weekly over the course of the next five weeks, with the first launching on Monday 8 July. You can watch the full episodes on Instagram or our YouTube channel: https://lnkd.in/eUtCxuEn Tap the images below to find out what each episode of Climate+ is about, and leave a comment below about which one you’re looking forward to the most! 💬 Huge shout-out to our graphic designer Josephine Choy for creating the beautiful series artwork! 👏 🎨 #climatechange #videoproduction #creativestudio #digitalcontent

Is gender equality an underrated solution climate change? 🤔 We're so pleased to finally share the first episode of Climate+, our brand new series exploring the intersectionality of climate change and social justice in collaboration with Oxfam GB. We know that climate change, like many other things in this world, disproportionately impacts women, and that’s what we’re discussing in episode one. Women are often the backbone of communities across the world, yet when it comes to decision-making and negotiations on climate they’re often denied a seat at the table. That’s why climate activists like Joyce Koech, who we speak to in this episode, are fighting to ensure that girls have access to a quality education and to make this a key part of the climate conversation. Watch the episode here and let us know what you think in the comments! 💬 https://lnkd.in/eT52_wsJ #ClimateChange #ClimateCrisis #GenderEquality #WomensRights

Who’s ready for a brand new Earthrise Originals series? 🙋♀️ We’ve teamed up with Oxfam GB to create a five-part series all about intersectionality. Here’s the thing about the climate crisis — though it’s often discussed in isolation, it does not exist in a vacuum. Climate change impacts everyone, and exacerbates all existing inequalities – which is why our new UK government must tackle climate inequality as an urgent priority. With this new project, we’re on a mission to show you how climate change intersects with some of the most pressing issues of our time including gender, conflict, class, health, and colonialism. Climate+ is coming to your screens on Monday 8 July, you can watch it on Instagram or on our YouTube channel: https://lnkd.in/eUtCxuEn

To make this video was a true special moment for me. To meet and film Nemonte Nenquimo, is a dream come true. Meet Nemonte, powerful indigenous leader, mother and wife, warrior of the Waorani people in Ecuadorian Amazon. To her fight against the Ecuadorian government, successfully protecting half a million acres of Waorani ancestral land in the Amazon rainforest from oil drilling. Thank you Earthrise Studio and Letters to the Earth for involving me in making a very special video where Nemonte shares her letter from Mother Earth to humanity. #interview #film #videoediting #climatechange #climatejustice

And that’s a wrap on this year’s #LondonClimateActionWeek! You might have seen clips of our team whizzing around the city on Lime bikes rushing to get to the different events taking place this week — here are some of the things we got up to: 🦖 Our Head of Editorial Joi Lee spoke at a storytelling workshop organised by Groundswell at the Natural History Museum. 🎙️ Our Head of Collaborative Partnerships Isabella Noero spoke at a live podcast event with Outrage + Optimism Tom Rivett-Carnac and Fiona McRaith. 👑 We attended The Earthshot Prize to celebrate the amazing achievements of the award’s finalists, hosted by Prince William. ⛰️ We joined a very special workshop at Salesforce to support the communication and fundraising strategy of Acción Andina Bolivia. The action-packed week left us utterly exhausted, but as we recovered over the weekend we couldn’t help but feel deeply inspired by the growth of London Climate Action Week as a global space for activists, artists, storytellers, policymakers, philanthropists, and experts to come together and collaborate on the bold solutions we need! Until next year, London 🇬🇧

Head of Collaborative Partnerships @ Earthrise | Impact-Driven Media Platform for Climate Storytelling

I’m still buzzing from having spoken last week at the launch of #Mission2025, a special Outrage + Optimism live podcast recording at London’s Guildhall alongside remarkable speakers and the iconic hosts Tom Rivett-Carnac and Fiona McRaith, sharing the floor with Andrew Steer of the Bezos Earth Fund 🌎 At the heart of our conversation was the power of storytelling as a key tool to encourage governments to drive climate ambition to reach the Paris Agreement’s target of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. At Earthrise Studio we’ve spent the past 4 years harnessing the power of storytelling and creativity to engage a community of people across 45 countries on climate issues, and as I shared in my speech, here are three key learnings we’ve gained over the years: 🌱 Solutions-driven Storytelling: The right stories, told the right way, can have real-world impact. We must move beyond doom and gloom to inspire excitement and empowerment about the possibilities ahead without naïve optimism. Screaming about the problem and pointing fingers without offering tangible solutions is simply not working. 🤲 Human Stories: Emotive stories of resilience, community, and frontline leadership are crucial, whilst also acknowledging the devastating consequences marginalized communities are facing today due to the climate crisis. ⚡ Breaking the Echo Chamber: Culture and ‘culture-makers’ need to be at the heart of this. We need artists, celebrities, and creators to champion the stories that matter to reach mass audiences. Those who imagine the future, shape the future. I also emphasized the need for bold and brave funding in climate storytelling: Good storytelling requires time and resources (often underestimated), and if we are to be radically imaginative and optimistic, funders must rise to the challenge too. Listen to the Outrage + Optimism full podcast episode now LIVE: https://lnkd.in/d3x4HU5C Featuring: Karen Pflug, Paul Dickinson, Lord Adair Turner, Hein Schumacher, Tamsin Ballard, Nigar Arpadarai Thanks to the iconic Groundswell team for making this happen 💛 Matthew Phillips Fiona Macklin Juanita Silva Michael Seckler Clay Carnill #mission2025 #climateaction #LCAW

As #WorldOceanMonth draws to a close, let’s take a moment to remember that the health of the ocean is inextricably linked to ours. 💙 They provide us with the oxygen we breathe, and provide homes to many species. They’re also our greatest ally in fighting the climate crisis — that’s why we need to take drastic action this World Oceans Month to protect the seas and all the beings that rely on them. We’ve teamed up with the incredible people at Coral Gardeners to amplify their vital coral restoration projects — want to join us? Here’s how you can get involved: 1. Tap this link to donate to the fundraiser: https://lnkd.in/eFC6VJUU 2. Help us amplify the campaign by sharing this post far and wide! 📢
