At BT Group we want to be a company that’s there for our people when they need us. In the past month, we’ve reviewed our policies and benefits, making significant improvements to how we support our colleagues. For carers, we now offer up to two weeks paid leave so colleagues can support their loved ones who have a disability, a long-term illness or older parents. For parents, we’re introducing a new family leave policy for any parent welcoming a new child. That’s 18 weeks’ full pay, then 8 weeks’ half pay and up to 26 weeks’ at the statutory rate, for every parent, no matter how their family is made up. And to support colleague wellbeing, we now offer access to a 24/7 online GP service and additional women’s health services, which includes help with menopause symptoms, cancer screenings and periods. All this puts BT Group in the top 33% of FTSE100 employers. With less than 50% of companies offering aligned maternity and paternity leave, BT Group is one of the leaders in our sector. Watch our recent video featuring colleagues from across the business demonstrating how important their family time is to them. It touches on the real-life experience of parenting and caring, so if you find either of these subjects difficult for you personally, you don’t need to watch it – all the information you need is in this post. #FamilyLeave #Support #Wellbeing

This morning, we've released new research surrounding how technology can play a crucial role in the care for people with dementia. Did you know that 66% of carers believe technology can enhance the quality of life for people with dementia? Yet, 40% are unsure how to use it, and 52% say there’s not enough training available. Victoria Johnson, Social Impact Director at BT Group, says: “Technology holds so much potential to enhance the lives of older people and those living with dementia and cognitive disabilities. Yet our research shows getting to grips with tech can be daunting for carers.” Discover how tech is transforming dementia care and read stories like Rachel’s, who shares how tech has improved her mum’s independence and quality of life. As Pride month comes to a close, we are excited to share some of our favourite moments from our Pride in London celebrations! 🎉 On Saturday morning, members of our Pride network came together to celebrate their identity. Joined by our Chief Executive, Allison Kirkby, colleagues gathered at the BT Tower before marching through London. This year, we’ve participated in 17 different pride events across the UK, some of which we sponsored, to celebrate and recognise the LGBTQ+ community. Having a workforce that reflects our customers is mission critical for us to ensure our products and services are accessible and inclusive by design. Check out the highlights in our video and join us in spreading the message of equality.  Sabine Chalmers Michael Salter-Church Mark Armario Fiona Vines #LondonPride #Pride2024 #PrideMonth #Diversity #Inclusion
