Last week British Airways Holidays partnered with Ikos Resorts to host a group of UK journalists at the stunning Ikos Odisia. The trip enabled our guests to experience Corfu firsthand, jetting off in style in a feature-packed Club Europe cabin. The group were encouraged to take their trip seriously, explore the beautiful resort and indulge in the huge variety of cuisines on offer. 28 humans, 9 geese, 6 dogs, 5 ice creams and a baby bump🍦 According to the Mental Health Foundation one of the most important things that we can do is regular movement. Finding the motivation and time to get active can be difficult, especially with modern ways of working, so ‘Movement: moving more for our mental health’ was the focus of Mental Health awareness week this year. We were delighted to see colleagues meeting up for walks with one another. Sarah lead one at her local nature reserve and said "it was fab to catch up and see some familiar faces". This is your sign to check in with your team and have the strength to ask them twice. What an amazing day 🎉 Yesterday we held our away day at the American Express Stadium, the home ground of the local football team for many colleagues. We heard from IAG Loyalty and the British Airways strategy team and British Airways Holidays colleagues shared updates on our people plans and future strategy for growth. We then took on the famous British Airways Holidays treasure hunt around the streets of Brighton. It was a great opportunity to get to know colleagues from different teams and work together to complete the hunt. Some of the team photo challenges included getting a photo at a stage door, a photo with all of the team’s feet off the ground and a photo with a cow on the pier 📷

Earlier this week, we announced the second British Airways Holidays Travel Trends Report to a group of esteemed travel media in the heart of Rome. The InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace provided the perfect setting to experience a whirlwind 24 hours in the eternal city.   Key findings this year include:   👉 The growth in searches from customers looking to travel in May and June 2024 was double the level for trips in July and August 2024 (compared to the same periods in 2023), suggesting a desire for shoulder season travel is on the rise. 👉 45% of all UK holidaymakers said they are most likely to travel off-peak in 2024 or 2025. 👉 23% of UK consumers use TikTok to get inspiration for holidays. Of those, almost one in five (18%) have booked a trip as a direct response to content they have seen.    We teamed up with industry experts to take a deep dive into the latest trends and external factors that are influencing travel behaviour. A huge thank you to respected travel journalists Lucy Thackray and Richard Mellor, travel influencer Louise Wilshaw and leading voices in the hospitality space, Patricia Page-Champion and Shannon Knapp, for all of their support.    The insights and findings drew on research conducted by Globetrender, the UK’s leading travel trend forecasting agency, and was supplemented by analysis of British Airways Holidays data from ba.com, along with a UK consumer survey by YouGov Plc.
