With the UK still seeing lower levels of labour market economic activity than pre-pandemic, the challenge for the North East is that the divergence in growth between the region and the southern parts of the country is now growing. With 15% of employment in the North East being in Manufacturing, the recent announcement by Nissan that they will invest 2 Billion into a plant at Sunderland is welcome news, equally, for the region to catch up, more is needed. A great week of judging last week! Good luck to all our finalists 🤞
It was an absolute privilege to be a judge for this year’s APSCo awards for excellence. It’s been a very tough day interviewing the finalists for 3 award categories (recruitment company of the year £2 to £5m t/over, international recruitment company of the year and award for innovation). All the finalist submitted excellent applications and provided some insightful answers to our interview questions. It was tough deciding on the winners but after a lot of debating, we got there in the end. Thank you to my fellow judges - Amy Davies, Simon Bloch and Alan Horton and to the chair John Rose, who have upheld the values of APSCo, making these awards (in my opinion) the best in the industry.
