Ever feel like you have to 'win' an interview? What if the key to success is ensuring the company is the right fit for you, too? 🤔 Sima Ruparelia, Chief Actuarial and Risk Officer at PartnerRe, chats with Sandra Lewin on the 100 Women in Insurance Podcast and shares her career journey and lessons learnt along the way. Sima's advice? Navigating interviews is a two-way process, especially at the executive level: “you're interviewing them as much as they're interviewing you….You're fitting into quite a small number of people at that level. You want to ensure that you are all pulling in the same direction because that makes a company the most successful.” We are proud to support the 100 Women in Insurance Podcast, which amplifies diverse narratives and promotes inclusivity within the industry. Yesterday, Vicki Filer hosted Arthur's first Heads of Delegated Authority breakfast round table discussion about expanding the delegated talent pool with various heads of department across the insurance industry. Thank you to everyone who joined and participated in this event. It was a lively and insightful discussion into the different ways in which insurance companies can develop their talent pipeline in delegated authority now to address the current shortages, and in the future. During this session, we covered and identified several key strategies to secure the future talent pool in Delegated Authority across insurance, including: - Focussing on initiatives at the grassroots level to attract talent, such as introducing apprenticeships and graduate schemes specific to the Delegated Authority profession - Exploring the internal transfer of talent from underwriting or other divisions to cross-skill and retain talent within a company - Adopting a skills-first approach and being open-minded to hiring talent from other industries where skills are transferrable, such as analytical and stakeholder management skills - Raising awareness of Delegated Authority as an attractive and rewarding career path Further insights from our discussion will be coming soon. Please keep an eye out for these resources. If you’re already working in insurance and considering a career change into delegated authority or finding the talent for your delegated authority team, please get in touch with Vicki Filer at vf@arthur.co.uk. #delegatedauthority #insurance #careers #talent
