War of drones. Such a description of this war is entirely appropriate, given the scale and intensity of both sides' use of drones. Attacks and reconnaissance, on the front lines and in the rear — drones are everywhere, become increasingly technologically perfect — Ukrainian and enemy. This, along with the development of EW and other means of countering UAVs, was discussed at a meeting with representatives of the British defense and security industry's trade mission to Ukraine. Separately, the Brave1 lead, Nataliia Kushnerska, focused on the needs of the Ukrainian defense tech industry and how Ukraine and the international community can build a mutually beneficial partnership to develop defense innovations. Ukrainian developers present at the meeting could discuss possible options for cooperation and tell the British delegation about their technological developments in more detail. We continue to unite Ukrainian and foreign manufacturers to transform Ukraine into the world's main defense tech hub!

In the years of full-scale war, the Ukrainian drone manufacturing industry has gained tremendous momentum. Domestic manufacturers, stimulated by deregulation of the sector, reduced tax burden, and financial support from the state, are now creating the entire range of unmanned solutions – from bomber and reconnaissance drones to FPV and UAVs that reach enemy targets thousands of kilometers away. As a result, hundreds of domestic drone manufacturers now supply the Security and Defense Forces with hundreds of thousands of drones every month. And this is just the beginning. Transparent procurement of Ukrainian UAVs: the government adopted a resolution The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted amendments to Resolution No. 256 of March 24, 2023, which provide for the improvement of the procurement procedure for UAVs. From now on, UAVs of domestic production can be purchased through the closed functionality of the Prozorro | Система публічних закупівель Прозорро electronic procurement system. Previously, the system was used only for the procurement of certain categories of foreign-made drones, such as Mavic, Autel, and Matrice. This step will significantly improve the transparency of procurement and allow developers to scale up their production. The changes also provide for the protection of sensitive information about UAV manufacturers, in particular, such information will be hidden. The adoption of these changes will stimulate the development of the Ukrainian defense tech industry.

🔥 The European Defense Tech Hackathon took place in Munich, bringing together over 100 participants from various countries, including 12 Ukrainian developer teams. The hackathon aimed to bridge the gap between technologists, the public sector, investors, and operators of dual-use and defense technologies. Participants in the competition sought the most effective solutions in the following areas: ◼ Detection and protection against enemy UAVs ◼ Secure communication and information defense technologies  ◼ Use of sensors for military operations Priority was given to solutions that are cheap, easy to produce and operate, and capable of working effectively in various hostile environments. The winners of the hackathon were developers of air target detection and anti-personnel mine detection tools, as well as manufacturers of mini-MANPADS designed to counter enemy UAVs. Together with international partners, we continue to seek effective defense tech solutions that can enhance the security of Ukraine and Europe. We are confident that combining Ukrainian experience in innovation implementation with the expertise and technologies of our partners can significantly improve the security of the free world. Kyiv School of Economics launches an innovative master's program, "Unmanned Aerial Vehicles" The goal of this program is to train specialists in the design and construction of UAVs, as well as in UAV testing and certification. These specialists will become the foundation of Ukraine's defense tech industry. Behind every effective development used by our military are highly qualified specialists. Without them, achieving technological superiority over the enemy is impossible. Therefore, it is crucial for us to develop the scientific and intellectual potential in defense tech that would ensure sustainable growth of the industry for many years to come.
