In his keynote speech at the 2nd #CAPRIAnnualForum, James Gilmore, former Republican Governor of Virginia and U.S. Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe during Trump's tenure, expressed a different view: “Taiwan is our friend. “Wicked problems are wicked because they can’t be solved by a single government,” that's where national intelligence plays the key role in understanding the intension of different countries and facilitate cross-country cooperation to address complex global challenges, reflected by Dr. Thomas Fingar at the #CAPRIPublicForum today. The United States' first Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Analysis and former Chairman of the U.S. National Intelligence Council Dr. Fingar from Stanford University Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies presented a talk on the role of national intelligence in policymaking. Dr. Fingar's remarks were introduced by Prof. Harry Harding, a CAPRI board member and Yushan Scholar at National Chengchi University. Prof. Harding emphasized the critical role that professional intelligence analysis plays in policy discussion and formulation. This lecture, co-hosted by the Ministry of Education Yushan Scholar Program, and NCCU College of Social Sciences will be available for viewing on the CAPRI website. #intelligence #policymaking
