N Chandrababu Naidu, upon assuming office as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, conveyed his appreciation to the renowned figures from the state's film industry who graced the swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday.

The Chief Minister acknowledged the presence of these cinematic icons and thanked them for their support and participation in the momentous event.

In a post on X, Chandrababu Naidu said, "The oath-taking ceremony shone even brighter today with the presence of our cinema legends. I thank Thalaivar @rajinikanthGaru, @KChiruTweets Garu, @AlwaysRamCharan Garu, and every superstar who graced the occasion."

Tamil Nadu political leaders, including chief minister M K Stalin, PMK’s Anbumani Ramdoss and AMMK general secretary TTV Dhinakaran, have congratulated TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on assuming charge as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh for the fourth term.

"Hearty congratulations and best wishes to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu ji on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh's development will gain further momentum under the leadership of Shri Naidu ji," posted Nitish Kumar on X.

After taking charge of Petroleum Ministry for the second term, minister Hardeep Singh Puri said he will work to bring natural gas under Goods and Services Tax (GST). Currently, all petroleum products, alcohol and tobacco are out of the ambit of GST.

Natural gas too being a petroleum product is outside the ambit of GST, and taxed under the old regime taxes like central excise duty, state VAT and central sales tax.

Experts believe taxation on natural gas is key to increasing the use of natural gas in the economy. The government has set a target of raising the share of natural gas in the country's primary energy basket to 15 per cent by 2030, up from 6.7 per cent now. (ANI)

Actor Ram Charan graced the swearing-in ceremony of TDP chief and newly appointed Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday, donning an all-black ensemble for the occasion.

The event also witnessed actor-turned-politician and Janasena leader Pawan Kalyan taking oath as a minister in the Naidu government.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in interactions with Pawan Kalyan, Padma Vibhushan awardee and actor Konidela Chiranjeevi, superstar Rajinikanth, and actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna.

The Prime Minister also conversed with other Union Ministers and TDP leaders present at the swearing-in ceremony, which took place at Gannavaram Mandal, Kesarapalli IT Park on the outskirts of Vijayawada.

In a post on X, PM Modi said, "Attended the oath taking ceremony of the new Andhra Pradesh Government. Congratulations to Shri @ncbn Garu on becoming the Chief Minister and also to all the others who took oath as Ministers in the Government. Along with him, Nadendla Manohar Garu, Ponguru Narayana Garu, Vangalapudi Anita Garu, Satyakumar Yadav Garu, Nimmala Ramanaidu Garu, Anam Rannarayana Reddy Garu, Payyavula Keshav Garu also took oath as Andhra cabinet ministers.

He represents Tekkali assembly constituency.

Pawan Kalyan, a prominent icon in the Telugu film industry, has etched a lasting legacy in Tollywood with his remarkable acting prowess and influential persona. From 2019 to 2024, he fulfilled his role as the leader of the opposition in the Andhra Pradesh assembly. Today marks another milestone as Chandrababu Naidu is sworn in for his second term as chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Chandrababu's political journey commenced in 1978 when he was elected as an MLA from Chandragiri. He held ministerial positions from 1980 to 1983 before assuming the role of chief minister for the first time in 1995, overseeing united Andhra Pradesh. He served as chief minister once again in 1999, marking his second tenure in the role.

Inspecting the preparations for the event, chief secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad mentioned that the Prime Minister is scheduled to depart from Delhi for Gannavaram Airport at 8.20am, aiming to arrive by 10.40am on Wednesday.

Among the TDP's key contenders for the forthcoming cabinet are Naidu's son Nara Lokesh, P Narayana, Dhilipalla Narendra, K Atchannaidu, Kala Venkata Rao, Payyavula Keshav, Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy, and Gottipati Ravi. Reports suggest that Naidu meticulously curated his cabinet selection to maintain a balance of caste and regional dynamics, ensuring representation for all social groups.

Furthermore, it's been disclosed by sources that Naidu attempted to extend an invitation to outgoing CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for the swearing-in ceremony, even reaching out to him personally via phone. However, Reddy was reportedly unavailable at the time.

The BJP, with its eight MLAs, is anticipated to secure one or two positions within the cabinet. The names of Sujana Chowdary, Vishnu Kumar Raju, and Satya Kumar are being considered for these roles. With a maximum capacity of 26 positions, including the chief minister, the Andhra Pradesh cabinet accommodates the state's 175-member assembly.

Should the alliance partners secure six ministerial positions, the TDP is poised to claim the remaining 20 berths. Naidu is expected to allocate a significant portion to Backward Classes communities, potentially including around eight members from this demographic. The Kammas and Kapus groups may each receive four ministerial slots, while the Reddy community could garner three. Additionally, there might be two members from SCs, one from STs, and one from the Vaisya community. Moreover, there's speculation that three women could be included in the cabinet.

Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, Veteran actor Rajinikanth arrived in Vijayawada, ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of Andhra Pradesh CM-designate N Chandrababu Naidu. In the visuals captured by the media, Rajinikanth could be seen accompanied by his wife Latha Rajinikanth.

Union Ministers Amit Shah, JP Nadda arrived at Gannawaram airport in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday night to attend the oath-taking ceremony of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu.

General Secretary of the TDP, Nara Lokesh received them at the airport and escorted them to Chandrababu Naidu's residence.

Naidu was unanimously elected leader of the NDA Legislative Party. The MLAs-elect of all the three alliance partners met at a private function hall on Tuesday morning to elect their leader where the Jana Sena chief, Pawan Kalyan, proposed the name of Chandrababu to lead the NDA in the State which was supported by the BJP State unit president, Daggubati Purandheswari and the TDP State unit president, Kinjerapu Atchen Naidu.

While addressing the MLAs-elect of the NDA, Naidu said that from Wednesday it will be the people's regime in the State and each decision will be in the interest of the people. Making it clear that there will be no vindictive politics like demolishing the Praja Vedika and giving the slogan of three capitals, the Chief Minister-designate said that the positive government will function most responsibly.

Jana Sena is likely to get three more cabinet berths, with Naidu leaving the decision on picking the candidates to Pawan. While party chief Pawan Kalyan is likely to be the deputy chief minister with a key portfolio.
